Facts

Shakespeare made up the name “Jessica” for his play Merchant of Venice.
Shakespeare probably based it on the biblical name ISCAH, which would have been spelled Jescha in his time.

That's great news for the most part Sandy and hopefully the stent won't be for long. If you get the all clear on Monday that will be fantastic. The blood taking part was quite funny but I bet the nurse was slightly embarrassed.

Kerri I'm the opposite. I'd have been in there taking photos. lol

So far, so good on my quiet and lazy weekend. I've done a few essential chores and combed the cat and now I'm planning on doing very little for the rest of the day.

Sandy: that sounds like a scary operation to me . Wishing you the best  for the recovery

Hi all!

Another sunny day.
I planted some Zinnias (bedding plants)
in pots. I also planted some flower seeds.

I'm baking stuffed green peppers in the oven right now.
Hopefully we have a quiet, relaxing evening.

Hope everyone has a peaceful rest of your day!

Kerri, I do so wish I had your energy. You always seem so busy.

The poor nurse Wendy ended up in a right panic that I had to calm her down by ensuring her that I was still fine and it wasn't bothering me.

Sorry about the confusion Guru, lol.

Yeah, we have some great traditions Susan.

I'm peeing every 5 minutes at the moment but that's because I'm having to drink lots for the time being. But I'm feeling good. I'm just pleased it's all over for another few months.

I'm now spending a bit of time catching up on the boards before I jump in the bath and start the day properly.

Glad you're feeling good despite the living in the bathroom Sandy. I wish I had half of Kerri's energy too. I love stuffed peppers. I wonder whether she has leftovers.

We have sunshine this morning and that cold northerly breeze has dropped so I might kick myself into going for a walk later. It's a bit odd not having a dog to take with me so I might borrow one for a couple of hours. Plenty of family dogs who'd quite happily have an extra walk along the canal. I'm getting far too lazy without one.

Oh dear that would drive me batty having to pee every 5 minutes! But overall good news indeed Sandy and hopefully more good news today for you. Smile

Good morning all ... I managed to have 2 hours sleep after yacking to Sandy on Skype for 6 hours overnight hahahaha.

Busy day as well for me but no doubt I will need a snooze this afternoon.

Well, the peeing has slowed down a bit now and it's also less uncomfortable when I do pee, which means the stent is settling in and my body is getting used to it.  Still a bit wary of going too far from a loo yet though.  Tomorrow all should be good.

I have a hospital appointment again this afternoon, which will be anything up to two hours for a 20 minute chat I would think.  My Aimee is taking me today as Jess will be working.

Sorry about you only getting 2 hours sleep Martha, but you will keep chatting, rofl.  Get a nice kip this afternoon, although as I write this at 9am my time you have probably got your work done you had to do and had your kip already.  I slept like a log last night for a change, so much so that I was up bright as a bird at 7am.

I think it's a good idea to go nick a dog occasionally Wendy.  Although a dog stops to pee every 10 seconds at least they do give us the incentive to get out and about.  Louies is shocking for stopping at every blade of grass.  Bayley was good though, he just loved the walking.

Beautiful sunny day out there for us.

I hope you don't need to pee during the 20 mins chat part Sandy. lol

I did borrow a dog and fortunately it wasn't one that stopped a lot. If anything he walked a bit too fast for my short legs and I had to rein him in occasionally. It was fun though and good to get moving instead of sitting at this plastic brain.

Going to see my brother this afternoon and sort out the last few arrangements for mum's birthday do on Sunday. It's at my cousin's ginormous house near the coast so it's mostly a case of deciding who's driving who and taking what now.

I keep chatting hey!!! Hahahahaha as if Sandy lol!

I never had that snooze during the day yesterday but have made up for lost sleep tonight as I fell asleep in my recliner just after dinner and just now woke up.
My whole day/night sleeping is "slighty" stuffed up LOL.

Had my 2 yearly eye check today and yep I need new computer/reading glasses ... bugger. More money to be spend. I did find a decent enough frame that would be good for the new lenses for just under $200 so that's ordered and paid for now.

Oh gosh Martha.  I know you were hoping to get away without new ones for the next year or so.

I slept like a log last night.  Not one single pee during the night.  Wow!  That never happens, lol.

Oh I do hope your Mum has a great day Wendy.

I had to rest up a bit after visiting the hospital again yesterday.  What with the rattling around the car, then trailing miles through the hossy and back again, I wasn't very comfortable by the time I got home.  So I just put my feet up and then at 9pm started another marathon yack with Martha.

We never run out of things to talk about do we Sandy Smile

I was lucky that I got a good deal with the new glasses and it was all inclusive that just below $200 price tag.

It's Mothers Day here this coming Sunday and I'm not sure yet who can make it and who has to work.
Wendy hope your mum will have a lovely Birthday!

Thanks both of you. Her birthday isn't until next Wednesday but I'm sure she'll have a great time on Sunday. She still has no idea where we're going and has been fishing like mad. Amazingly everyone has managed to keep their traps shut for once.

Ouch on the new specs Martha. I know how you feel having got mine a few weeks ago. At least you won't need them next year now presumably.

Glad you slept through Sandy. It was probably all that yakking wore you both out.

Oh I do hope your kids or at least a couple of them make it on Mother's Day Martha.

Nope Martha we don't, but I couldn't tell ya what we talked about after we've hung up.

I too need new specs.  I think I'm due for another test in June sometime.  Well, they aren't going to make much money out of me, unless I decide to have one pair as sun glasses or something.  But I'm certainly not spending anything on frames.

Doing my washing today.  2 machine loads because of them being darks and lights.  Then it's my turn to clean the kitchen down.

I slept most of yesterday away ..... felt really crap and had a sore chest and throat so I guess the sinusitis I had last week sneakily got into my chest!

Grabbed a flannelette sheet and chucked it on my recliner; took out the vaporizer and filled it with water and Kwan Loong Oil and turned the oil heater on.

I woke up a few times so refilled my hot lemon, honey drink; had light food and made sure I took my meds and that was it. So a day in my little living room was good as I woke up this morning feeling a bit better. I am just going to take it easy today and sleep when I feel like it.

I hope you feel better still today Martha and get to enjoy Mother's Day.

My specs weren't as expensive as I expected considering I got new frames as well for both my intermediate pair and my vari-focals. Pricey enough but could have been much worse. I actually got them at ASDA this time. Never used them before but my sister had just got hers there and was happy with them so I decided to give them a try. I was pleasantly surprised.

I'm currently updating my laptop and then I'm going to fish out my camera that I haven't used in ages. The sun is shining so I may go for a walk and get to know the settings and stuff before I need it for my holiday. I use it so rarely I can never remember half the functions when I fish it out.

Oh bloody heck Martha.  Sorry to hear that you are feeling so rotten.  Get well soon matie.

If you take any nice photos do post them Wendy.  I don't bother with a camera nowadays as the phones take such nice photos.  Plus one doesn't have to actively think about taking a camera out with them.  The wherewithal is right in ones pocket or handbag already.

Sarah and Jess flew to Venice early this morning, coming back Monday.  Aimee didn't want to go as she is petrified of flying.  This is the first time though that she has held out and not gone.  She has to be highly drugged up to get on a plane and her holidays are ruined by the fear of knowing she has to fly home again.

Her and I are going to either go and visit my Sister today (Aimee's suggestion) or go to look around for the price of carpets and white goods for me and some fun bits for her.  I suspect we will do the shops today and then visit Barbara tomorrow.  We could have done both but Aimee is still in bed and as she needs the sleep badly I'm not going to wake her.

Thanks Wendy and Sandy Smile feeling loads better this morning so I think the worst has been. I will just rest more and drink more fluids and that should do the trick.
I love my faporizer and it has come in handy again this time round as the Kwan Loong oil is brilliant to open up or clear the airways! Eucalyptus oil would do the trick too.

I am going to attempt to do my usual Friday morning stuff and see how I feel afterwards. Having said that I better get a move on and rush out the door. Will be back later today Smile

Glad you're feeling much better Martha. My ex used to use a vaporizer with Eucalyptus oil. I didn't need one but like the smell anyway. lol

I didn't take anything worth posting Sandy. I was more trying out various functions to see what did what. Nothing pretty around here to take pics of. I don't usually bother with a camera either but that's because I don't take photos rather than because I use my phone. I have got a few on my phone of the cat and my sister's dogs but I've never got around to getting a cable to transfer them to my computer. lol I just took them to see if the camera worked. It wouldn't occur to me when I was out and about to fish it out and take some.

The friend I'm visiting is a wildlife photographer and the first couple of trips I borrowed one of her very expensive cameras with various big lenses. Made me very nervous carrying that sort of equipment about. It did take some fabulous photos though despite being in the hands of an amateur.

Oh man I would love to go out on a trip with that friend of yours Wendy! But like you I have no clue really on how to use a camera; certainly not with all those fancy lenses.
I've got an attachment thingy for my phone to take wide angle or macro shots and I still haven't used it hahahaha.

My morning went well and I got everything done and even managed a little shopping. Bought myself some yummy Japanese take away and when I got home at 1pm I ate and then slept again lol.

I learned a lot on my trips Martha and got quite proficient with good cameras. Back home and a few weeks later and it was wiped from my memory. lol I have lots of great photos to remind me though which is nice.

Nothing exciting happening today. I'm getting a few chores done and answering a few e-mails. Tomorrow is the big bash so I won't be around. Have a great weekend everyone.

You simply can't beat a good camera for taking great pics.  The trouble is the better the camera the harder they are to figure out.  But well worth the learning how.

I'm pleased you are feeling a lot better Martha.

I am hoping to get Aimee to get into the garage today and bring up a couple of boxes for me to make a start on packing away some of the stuff I am simply not likely to use between now and moving.  I really don't want to do it all at the end.

Hi Everyone.
Glad you are feeling better, Martha.
I need to get checked for a new pair of reading
glasses, too.

Wendy,
Hope you have a good time at the
get-together for your Mom.
I get teased in my family for being picture-crazy.
I am always snapping pictures with my small
digital camera and the camera on my phone.

Moving is a lot of work, Sandy.
I so dislike to have to move.
The only nice thing is I've always gotten
rid of some of the junk I've accumulated
and really don't use.
I hope I don't have to move again, though.
So do my children, I imagine, as they have
always helped me.

Three of my granddaughters spent the night
last night.
My daughter picked up two of them this morning
after breakfast to take them to their dance classes
and to gymnastics.
The little one has been with me all day.
 We planted some flowers together.
It's supposed to get to 79F today
and is very sunny.
Later today, I'm attending two of my granddaughters
first communion.
Then my children and grandchildren are coming
over here to celebrate Mother's Day today.
(As one of my daughters has to work tomorrow.)

One of my daughters wanted to buy me
a designer purse for Mother's Day.
I told her that was very sweet of her.
But I'd rather they all went together
and bought me an inexpensive vacuum.
I usually say nothing when they ask what
I want for a gift.
But that's what I really need.  Smile
Hope everyone has a great rest of your day!
