Shakespeare made up the name “Jessica” for his play Merchant of Venice.
Shakespeare probably based it on the biblical name ISCAH, which would have been spelled Jescha in his time.

Hahahaha Sandy just can't help herself hu? Cowbag this time ... I guess that's like a promotion right Sandy! cyclops

I do like those ride wrist bands Kerri Smile

Good morning all; I've been up since 3 am and have been chatting with my sister as we have been working on some sort of eulogy for my aunty Martha, who passed away on Monday. The poor love just couldn't live without her husband whom died about 5 months ago.  He was 91 and she was 89 so not bad age wise.

Sorry to hear about your Auntie Martha.  A good age though and at least she doesn't now have to live on without her hubby, bless her.

Not promotion but more like being special, lol.

Good Day, everyone.

Sorry to hear about your Aunt, Martha.
Sounds like she was ready to go with him.

A long work day today,
but I got a lot done.

I'm going to try and watch some television
tonight. So so sad about what happened in Manchester.
What in the world is wrong with people
who just want to destroy and be hateful.

Hope everyone has a peaceful rest of the day.

Well, seemingly Kerri, one report says the bomber's Father and younger Brother have also been arrested in Tripoli where they were getting ready to do something similar in Libya.  Libya is the Father's home country.  Although I might have that wrong and it could be another suicide bomber they are talking about.

But until our governments recognise that although not all Muslims are violent but the actual cult of Islam is evil and then act and bring laws out accordingly it's just going to get worse.  Political correctness, libralism, mulitculturalism and globalism is all at the root of it all.

Our govenerment also need to recognise and ackowledge the difference between the sects of Islam.  For instance the Ahmadi are wonderful people and we have all in the west been living with them for decades with no problem.  But, most of these "so called" refugees that we are all taking in are Sunni and they are the ones that believe that Islam should be global.

We need to recognise that Islam is not a religion of peace.  It's not even a religion.  It's no more than a totalitarian, politial system.

The other thing that everyone needs to accept is there is no such thing as a home grown terrorist.  These people may have been born in our countries but they have never actually been British or American or whatever because of the indoctination that they have from birth.

There are answers to all of this but our governments haven't the guts to put them into place.

Today I am going to sort out the cabinet that I use as a stationery cupboard including for all of my filofax bits and pieces.  That's an absolute mess.  Once I have that sorted I can then pack it all up into packing boxes ready for moving.  I think I possibly have about 5 weeks from now before I move.

I'm sorry about your aunt Martha. It seems to happen quite often when people have been together for a long time. Perhaps that's what she wanted.

I've had a busy couple of days dealing with insurance companies and car repair places etc. My car was hit (parked outside my house) by a car transporter. Hopefully it won't cost me anything assuming they admit liability but it's been a complete pain in the backside.

I was pretty wound up about it all but the events in Manchester gave me some much needed perspective. At the end of the day it's just a car.

Picked up a courtesy car yesterday. Very nice but almost new so I'm a bit nervous driving it after my old clunker. Very sensitive pedals and six gears as opposed to my usual five.

@Whisper Did you add that +1 next to your birthday or did I add it by mistake meaning to add something elsewhere in your mini profile?

Not me. I didn't do it. Honest I didn't. I hadn't noticed it either.

Off grocery shopping in this hire car this morning. Not looking forward to it. I don't like being responsible for someone else's almost new car.

Ahhh, then I think I know what happened.  Off to rectify it.  I meant to give you an award and put the +1 in the wrong box.  Stupid mare that I am.

Our Jess got back safely from Disney Paris late last night.  Her and her mate had a great time.  I didn't like the idea of her going to France at this time due to the bombings the poor buggers seem to be getting now.  But all was well while Jess was away.

I'm sitting in a pig sty where I was sorting out yesterday.  I want to pack another box today.  Probably pack all my Filofaxes away.  They are going to take up a box by themselves.

Hi Everybody.

That stinks about your car getting banged up, Wendy.
I hope they take responsibility for what happened.

I had the day off, but my brain woke me up at 4 AM anyway.
So I got up and went grocery shopping at the Cub Foods
which is open 24 hours.
I made my homemade spaghetti sauce for my daughters.
Then washed the kitchen floor.
My daughter dropped my granddaughters off after school
and I took them to a park by a lake.
It was 76F today and gorgeous by the lake.

My granddaughters are spending the night
and the outdoor apartment swimming pool
opens for the season tomorrow morning.
So we'll be going to the pool
as soon as it opens.

Hope everyone has a peaceful rest of your day.

Oh gheez so sorry to hear about your car Wendy! That's all you need now.
Fingers crossed you don't have to pay any access with your insurance claim because it's the other person's fault!

I got the age mixed up with another aunty my sis told me lol. Aunty Martha was 83 and she was laid to rest today; bless her.

Sandy I need to sort out my cupboard here too because I've just been throwing things in there instead of keeping it tidy lol. I'm becoming a real slack person so I need to give myself a stern talking to.

I'm so late today with everything as I've had messages and calls all day long and I still haven't had dinner. So I am going to eat now and unwind a little.

Have a good weekend everyone Smile

Something similar happened to a friend of my Sister many years ago Wendy.  Some idiot when attempting to park put their foot on the accelerator instead of the brake and ended up writing off 3 cars.

Yesterday was so hot here it was unbelievable and we could have done with a swimming pool in the garden too Kerri.

I'm sitting here at the moment thinking how I should be now sorting out the boxes of stuff I have stored under my bed.  That should be my next job I think.

The problem with mine is that if they decide to write it off they won't pay out enough for me to replace it with such a low mileage one in good condition because it's ten years old. I won't be amused. Plus it's all the fuss of having to tax a new one etc. No transferring that any more so you have to fork out for it and then claim some back. It's going to be a major headache whatever they decide and it being a Bank Holiday weekend is just delaying things for longer.

I used to do that with the shopping Kerri. An empty car park and quiet shop. When I moved here the supermarket wasn't a 24 hour one so I got out of the habit. It is now but I'm not alert enough to be driving so early these days.

Very hot here the last couple of days but it's cloudy now after late thunderstorms. Still fairly humid but no sign of the sun as yet.

Fingers crossed you can get the car fixed and sorted again Wendy.

Shopping is even easier on line.  Mind you, with shopping on line you always forget something, whereas with physically shopping you can wander up and down each aisle looking to see what you want.

No idea what I am up to today.  Probably more sorting out and packing.

I would have the same drama with my car Wendy if it was to get written off as mine is 18y old!

Morning all from a still dark and cold Perth.
Time for my 2nd cuppa so I can wake up more lol. Didn't sleep so well after a friends funeral yesterday so today is just going to be a do what I feel like day.

Sandy you will be all set to go when the day comes Smile

I can imagine it must have been a rotten couple of days for you matie.

It's a chilly dull day here too this morning.

Once Sarah is up and gone off to work I'm going to do some washing and a bit more sorting out and throwing away junk.  Other than that my day is just going to be same ole, same ole.

That's a great age for a car Martha. My last one was 16 years old but got where having the rust repaired would cost more than the car was worth by a long way. Mechanically it was still fine and didn't cost me much in repairs other than routine stuff. This one cost me more in the first year and seems prone to disasters.

A grey, wet morning here. Doesn't inspire me to get moving at all. Off up to my brother's later but other than that just plodding through housework and waiting to hear from the insurers about whether they're going to approve the repairs.

Yeah my car has really served me well all these years Wendy but in the last 12 months it has needed a bit of work done. Mechanically wise it's still very good according to my mechanic and he keeps praising me for looking after it so well.

It will get to a point where the repairs needed are more then what the car is worth. Only trouble is of course that one needs to have the funds to get another car so it's a catch 22.

I need to get to bed as I'm taking my car in for another check up because either the front shock breaker has  problems or the CV joints are busted ... sigh.

Thanks for reminding me of it being the last day Elaine or I would have forgotten again to start the new month chat off, yet again.

Sorry to hear you are in even more pain. It's a bummer.

It looks like it's going to be a nice day here. Maybe our spring has finally arrived properly. I wonder if our summer will start on time this year.
