Shakespeare made up the name “Jessica” for his play Merchant of Venice.
Shakespeare probably based it on the biblical name ISCAH, which would have been spelled Jescha in his time.

I'm finding Christmas is getting harder and harder to find presents for everyone.  Everyone has so much money nowadays and can buy everything they want, and they seem to already have everything they want..  So when it comes to finding nice things that they would like but wouldn't think to buy themselves it's so hard.

I'm going to concentrate on making my own gifts this year for Chrissie presents as mine also have everything they need/want already.
So the gifts will be interesting or funny and that is the theme I'm going for.

Morning all and my gardens are very happy as they got a good drenching yesterday. Very cold, wet and windy with some hail thrown in for good measure lol.
Didn't loose power but never the less I was snuggled up with my book all night and didn't move.

Today I'm hoping to get a cupboard picked up from Natasja's house as her house needs to be rental ready by the end of the week. Fingers crossed the weather allows this.

Good luck with the weather Martha. It's dry and a bit brighter here today. Not summery but at least it's not as dreary.

That's not even remotely funny Sandy!! I refuse to even think about Christmas until December. I'm still trying to decide what to get my grandson for his 18th.

Nothing planned for today. I'm enjoying a quiet weekend because I've got visitors both days next weekend including one overnight on Saturday.

Rofl, I thought it was very amusing to bring up Christmas in the middle of the year, lol.  Pity Dougie wasn't here to read it.  He would be freaking out.

Funnily enough a couple of days ago Aimee came into my room and said how she was going to make all her Christmas pressies this year.  At this time she hasn't decided what to make each person but I said to her it was a great idea.

I might do the same.

I've been sorting out all Louie's toys to leave some here for him to play with when visiting, keep some for home and throw those away that he has never shown any interest in.  My goodness that dog has got some toys.  Those I am keeping I'm going to chuck the lot into the washing machine tomorrow and get rid of all the germs from them.  Some of them are disgusting.

Where is the cupboard for Martha and what sort is it?

I like real books. I don't read them any other way.

Sprung Sandy!! lol My dogs had a basket full of toys I was forever picking up so I could vac. Some were never touched though. Others they mauled into a disgusting state. They're all picky about which they like I think. One of mine loved soft toys with squeakers in them but another hated the noise and ripped the squeakers out before she'd play with them.

Christmas has never been my favourite time of year and the older I get the more of a pain I find it. Especially the whole finding gifts side of it.

Oh, I am not ready for thinking about Christmas yet.
Still enjoying the warm summer days.

I brought my husband in to the hospital
for an operation on his heel last Tuesday morning.
He ended up having two operation on the heel.
I have slept in the reclining chair next to his bed
since he was admitted.
He told me to come home tonight and sleep
in our bed and get some rest.

The nurses are only doing their job
but there is very little sleeping in the hospital.

At least we have lots of sunshine here lately.
It helps cheer him up
with the sun coming in through the windows that
cover one wall.

Hope everyone has a relaxing rest of your evening.

Tomorrow is July 4th and I may be spending it doing homework but I may just do it in the morning so the evening I can do what I want or I should have done it today.

Anyway, just saying hello!

Happy 4th to all our American members.

Kerri I hope your husband will be back home soon and you can both get some proper sleep.

We had a lovely sunny day yesterday but this morning it's pouring down. I wish it would make its mind up. It's hard to decide whether to wear a t-shirt, sweatshirt or all out waterproofs lately.

Nothing exciting to report. Housework to do this morning and then visiting my brother after lunch.

Hahaha Dougie I do read those too but mostly I read ebooks on my Kindle.
Anyway ... where have you been Dougie; you have been missed greatly. Smile Don't become a stranger again.

Hope you have your husband home soon Kerri.

Happy 4th of July to our American members. Smile

Sandy this cupboard was one of those tall cube ones and it went to my neighbour. I don't have the room for it here and she can use the bottom part to put baskets in for her grand kids toys. It was Catherine's cupboard that she left at Natasja's and she was happy to just give it to my neighbour.

Bugger, Dougie caught me, lol.

I"m also beginning to wish that I could totally ignore Christmas nowadays. It's just far too much hassle to deal with.

Wow! we can only stay overnight in the hospital if it's for a child under a certain age. We have set visiting times for patients which is a pain in the arse because of people trying to fit in a visit with you at the same time as they are working.

Hope hubby is home soon Kerri.

I never used to like that cube building type storage but I do rather now. I wish I had room for one.

I've had a busy day going from place to place today with Aimee and her chap Zarron as my chauffeurs. So near the time when I can get the keys to my new flat that I had bits to do that required me to physically get off my backside and go out and do.

Hopefully all the visits will be worth it in the end.

It's supposed to be a lovely sunny day. I was all set to hang washing outdoors but it's still raining. Maybe the sun is on its way.

A board I post at had migrated when I got up this morning. My first taste of tapatalk. I wasn't impressed. I'll probably still pop in there just because an old friend is still there and doesn't post anywhere else. I'm loathe to abandon him.

I just don't like how they are not allowing or even putting up skins that people can choose to use. Instead, it is up to the user. I just think with all what Yuku did and what you could do they should have thought that would be something that people really want for their boards. But there are so many angry users on their support forum that I really do feel sorry for Chris. She not only works there as an admin but she works at others as well. I don't think there is going to be a lot of people.

Anyway, here I am!

I am doing homework and trying to get my boys off to their grandparent's house.

Dropping in , lovely day here, 25c , my limit, any higher and I start complaining
Yuku is switching over , at least trying it out . Was able to get in to my group with my old sign in name and PW, all though ... it's now called tapatalk

Very plain , no skins so far , but there will be skins available later , but limited amounts  so I have read . there are emoticons to use , but no way to enlarge the writing as I can see , but of course one can enlarge with the computer if needed .

have a nice evening all .

I don't think I'll be using it much that's for sure. Another board I post at migrated last night. The owner is no longer around so I think I'll be abandoning that one.

Recycling to get out and a few chores to do and then I'm going to look into breakdown cover for the car. I'm very unimpressed with the renewal price on my current one. Even more so because I've never even used it in the 15 years I've been with them.

Mine's been migrated too Wendy.

Jeez! whoever designed the innards of that system want's shooting.  I've never seens such a confused muddle in all the systems I have played on.

Good luck with trying to get a decent deal for breakdown cover.

Sooo hot here today.  It's driven me crazy.  I hate the cold but I equally hate it too hot.

Apart from finding some removal men I've done sod all, all day.

Hi everyone.

I passed an electric sign today
on my way home from the hospital
and it said the temperature was 100F.
(Not that those signs are always right.)
It was a hot one, though.

My husband is still in the hospital.
He had a Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter line
(PICC)
put in. It goes in through the arm
and up to the big vein near the heart,
the Superior Vena Cava.
They did it so they could give him
a strong medicine to bring his blood pressure up.

I took a break from the hospital today
and took two of my granddaughters swimming
for two hours.
It was good to hear them laugh
and play in the water.
It was good to take a relaxing swim.

Hope everyone has a great rest of the day!

Glad you got a break for a while Kerri. I hope your husband will improve enough to go home soon.

They telling us it's going to be hot here but so far it hasn't quite made it. Warm but not hot. Too much cloud cover to be the 24C they keep forecasting.

I got the cover for £60 a year cheaper Sandy and that was after adding home start to it which I'd taken off the old one because it was getting too pricey. I'm happy with the deal. I've been swapping a few things recently because of how greedy the big companies are getting. I'm sure it's all Brexit's fault of course. *rolls eyes*

100F??  Oh wow!  there is no way I could stand that sort of heat.  80F is the absolute max I can be outside in.

Ditto what Wendy says about hubby.

It's been boiling here today.  Any hotter and I would have melted.

£60  it's a lot to save.  WTG.

Oh yeah.  It has to be the fault of Brexit, lol.

I wonder which will be the first country to follow us.  It's all gonna eventually come tumbling down like the Tower of Babel I'm sure.

I'd also like to see the UN fall apart too, them and their New World Order.

It's doing my head in not having Sky at the moment.  I can't even pause a programme.  I have no idea how many years it's been that I've had to wait for the adverts before dashing to make tea and have a wee.

Not eve a month to wait now though.
