Surprise her and get nothing in Sandy. lol A contrast to yesterdays downpours this morning. A hard frost with sunshine.

Sounds like a skunk. They have tails a bit like squirrels but straighter I think. Long and bushy. Unless it's a raccoon or honey badger. lol

Not sure what I'm doing today yet. Got some laundry in the machine and a cat to comb but after that I'll see how I feel and what the postman brings.

Now you are confusing me, lol. It could well be a badger I suppose. That would make more sense as we have our badgers here. Whatever it is, it isn't going to last much longer as it's well played with, chewed and had the life sucked out of it.

So you got the downpours as well yesterday? Sunny here today too.

I didn't sleep well last night. I suppose it's the thinking about tomorrow. I certainly wont get much sleep tonight either as I will have to be up at 5am to get ready to leave for the hospital. I just hope I am one of the first to be taken down to the operating theatre so I don't have that awful wait in the waiting room for hours. Why they tell us all to get there at 7:15am when they know that we may not even go down before 1pm I don't know.

I've been playing on Twitter this morning reading all the tweets. People are tweeting all sorts of non-sense, including myself, to test out the new 280 characters allowed on there now. Would you believe some are moaning about the raise from 140 to 280. Why on earth they are complaining I don't know. They don't have to tweet more than 140 if they don't want to. Silly buggers.

I don't feel like doing anything today, but I do have to change my sheets. I've also got the shopping coming near or just after midday that I will have to put away.

I did order some goodies for Jess and a choice of microwave meals for her in case I have to stay over night in hossy. I know she wont want to cook for herself and also she can't order a takeaway to be delivered as they wont deliver this way as we are too far out for them. But hopefully I will be home anyway.

Some people just can't help it and have to moan Sandy. I reckon it's a great thing that Twitter gives you more characters to use!

Ok I forgot what else I was going to type because .... I am actually on Skype talking to Sandy hahahaha.

Good luck for tomorrow Sandy I love you hope all goes smooth and you get to go home tomorrow night!

Thanks matey. Hopefully I’ll go down early and I won’t have to do much sitting around.

It was great talking to you again this afternoon. It made the day go quickly.

Best of luck for tomorrow Sandy. I hope you're early on in the day.

I've just had a phone call to say my car has been recalled so I need to take it in to get the handbrake looked at. It's over ten years old and the handbrake has worked fine all that time and still does. I hate fixing things that aren't broken. It can wait until I can be bothered.

Thinking of you Sandy hug and hope you've been in already and now resting and that all went well.

You know it's amazing how many recalls we've had over here Wendy! Catherine had her car for 7 years I think and not long ago they had a recall for her model. She was peefed of as she just doesn't have the time to take it in.
Yep I agree and take your car in when it suits you best.

Got a message from Sandy last night (my time) and all went well and she was having something to eat. If they where happy with the other things she might have been able to go home but I went to bed so no idea if she managed to get home.

Just about ready to rush out the door for my usual busy Friday morning.

Great news. Fingers crossed they let her escape. I'm sure she'll be home today if they didn't.

A grey, damp day here. Grocery shopping to do and a few other errands but hopefully a quiet day after that. Still waiting for some paperwork to arrive re mum but the wheels seem to turn very slowly. I was hoping to have finished with it all this week but it doesn't look likely unless a whole bunch of stuff arrives today.

Better to be safe than sorry Wendy as far as the car goes.

I"m home.  First time ever I've been allowed home on the day of surgery.  They let me out at about 6pm last night.

Good news and bad news.

Surgeon refused to operate without a cat scan first because he wanted to know exactly what has been going on.  He was so very angry with all the guess work that has been going on as to what exactly has been, and is, wrong with me regarding not only the kidney and bladder but also the bowels.   He said he doesn't do this treating of the symptoms but believes in a holistic remedy by treating the whole body.  And there was no way that he was just going to go in take the stent out have a quick look around and then put a stent back in.

So as well as the cat scan I was under anesthetic for much longer because he was injecting all sorts of die through my kidney, waiting 15 mins to see how it drained, and repeated that one more time with a different die.  With that and the cat scan he was able to see exactly how and what was happening.

Seemingly I held up the operating list well into the afternoon's list as he was being so thorough and went way over my time that he had been booked for me. There is a longer story to all this leading up to both him and me being so angry, him as a doctor and me as a patient which I wont go into at the moment. Needless to say we were both on the same side.

To cut a long story stort.  Diverticulitis that had gone untreated for so long due to them only concentrating on the tumour I had on my overy, caused the mass (previously labelled absess) to form in and outside my bowel.

So that mass was/is placed between the bowel and the bladder which caused the leaking of bowel into bladder.  Now, it's not only between the bowel and the bladder but is laying and pressing directly along side the tube that goes from my kidney to my bladder, thereby also causing my kidney to not drain properly and to swell.

Now the cat scan showed that the mass has gone down (dramatically) but is still there which is why I am still having some small problems with my bowels, but is also still causing the kidney 15 minutes to drain instead of as it should. Which means my kidney is still enlarged.

The lesions in my bladder caused by bowel leaking into it are also now healed, and no more leaking either.

So the upshot has been that the mass will continue to go down by itself as it has been and once it does the kidney will then start to function normally, but in the meantime I still need a stent between the kidney and bladder where that tube is being squashed.

Back in 6 months again but he feels sure that another 6 months of the mass being allowed to shrink by itself should put all back to working as should.

So good news has been that I now know exactly what has been going on and that it's all healing nicely by itself so no operation should be needed.  But the bad news is another stent, but this one being smaller and locally placed where it is, shouldn't really affect me as much as the last two.

Jess collected me and stayed with me overnight, and she has now just left to go to Blackpool for a few days.  She is a little gem that one.

I'm going to take it easy today as after all I would still normally be in hossy until this afternoon.

Sandy, just letting you know, that I am glad you got home OK, and that things went alright .
It sure sounds like a very involved thing you had to go through, all those dies and tests , you are a brave lady . But I guess you were under  , and that helped I bet . . As you say, good and not so good news, but .... there is hope in sight , wishing you all the best for healing on your own without medications .   Have a rest up .

Thanks so much for that Geru. Yup, it wasn't as bad as it sounds to go through. And it has gone a long way to explaining to me why I have been so ill, and also that there is an end in sight at some point.

You know I find it appalling that they never did scans to find out exactly what was going on in your body Sandy. To think of all the pressure, pain and embarrassing time for you and something that could have been fixed is unbelievable! I would lodge a complaint with the doctor that dismissed things with you and also lodge a complaint with the DHS or whatever the doctors regiment falls under.

On a positive note I'm so happy all went well and that this surgeon took the time and expertise to get to the bottom of it. Now rest enough and don't strain yourself for a few days so your body can get back to normal.

We're in for a hot 36C today and might get thunderstorms later this afternoon/evening.
Just hope the farmers gotten their harvest in as it's that time of year for them.
I soaked my gardens this morning and moved a few pot plants so they don't burn in the sun.

Other then that I have nothing planned for this weekend so I'm going to charge my Kindle and power banks that I keep for this kind of thing. That way if I have to unplug everything I can still read and charge my kindle and phone Smile

I have one similar to this >> Power Bank
and a small one to take with me in my handbag like this >> Small Power Bank

PostSubject: Re: November Chit Chat   Sat 11 Nov 2017 - 9:38

They did do scans last year when they finally started to check out the trouble with my bowels etc., but they then just started to treat me and never did any follow up scans as part of the other tests I was having each time I went in and out of the hospital.  Although last time I went in for a stent change they did say the mass was going down and the bladder lesions had gone but there was still a small leak, so they also would have done the die through my kidney whilst I was under that time as well.

It was just that this time I think the idiots that booked me in simply booked me in for a stent change without all the tests that I needed along with not also sending the whole of my files up to the operating room.  I personally think it was more of an administration mistake with the booking of the op.

So really all I have to complain about really is the ignoring the bowel symtoms for so long because they found the tumour on the ovary until I had that massive bleed.  And this time not organising the correct proceedure I needed last Thursday.  But I think they went into a panic last year because they had missed the diverticulitis causing the bowel mass, I could have died if I hadn't had that massive hemorage and been rushed in.

But thank goodness I am the type of person to open my mouth as you are Martha.  When I found out that they were only going to change the stent Thursday without investigation, I told the surgeon straight that there was no way I was walking into that operating room if they didn't know what they are doing.  I was furious and so was he when he found out that they hadn't given him all the information.

He instantly ordered a cat scan while he went off to get all of my other information after getting me to tell him from start to finish about what has been happening with me since February 2016.

I have never seen a Doctor so angry with the hospital.  He didn't hold back his feelings or his words.  He was amazing.  He came to my bed afterwards and spent ages with me going through exactly what he had done and what he will do next time.

Yeah, my Jess is an angel kerri.  She has actually been my rock though all of this.  I feel so bad that someone so young (20) has been the one to bear the most brunt of me being so ill.  The patience she has had has been remarkable.  She has come to everyone but two of my hospital visits with me, come in with me and even questioned Doctors herself if I have forgotten anything that she thinks I should know.  She's terribly bossy though, lol.

I'm feeling good today.  Peeing well, drinking a lot to get rid of all the die, and the awful sore throat I was left with from the tube of the op as also gone.  I'm fit and raring to go again for another 6 months.

I've set my alarm to remind me to turn the tv on at 11am to watch the London laying of the wreaths at the cenotaph tomorrow by the Royal Family and then of course the march pass of all the forces past and present.  I never miss that each year.  It chokes me up every time.

Raining again today so I will have a whip around my flat to do what I have ignored for the last few days and then I might sort out just one of the boxes I have tucked under my bed.

Great that you're home so quickly Sandy and that he was so thorough. Fantastic that the mass is shrinking on its own too but no wonder both you and the doc are so angry about the lack of proper care until now. I hope the smaller stent causes less of a problem for you and at least you can see light at the end of the tunnel now.

A wet and miserable day here but I have nowhere I need to go luckily. My daughter may or may not be coming up this evening but until then my day is my own to slob around as I please.

Don't they lay the wreaths on the 11th Sandy? Here they do as world war 1 ended on the 11th.

Lazy day for me today and probably more of the same tomorrow, depending on the weather.
Got to 37C today but expecting thunderstorms overnight, into the morning tomorrow.

Good Morning Everyone!
How is your day? Here, I woke up with a backache, it is time for a new bed. That is the only thing I can think of that is the issue because I slept in the hotel bed and it was WONDERFUL!!!!! So with our tax refund, we will also be getting a new bed mattress. We have a new caregiver on the weekends so I am training him today. But he is on Saturdays only. Otherwise, I will be going back to bed and watching movies in my room today.

I love this time of year because of the Christmas shows/and movies, and I also listen to the music. Love it.

Anyway, still need to go eat breakfast so I need to go do that. See you all later!

No, we call it Rememberance Sunday Martha. We have it the nearest Sunday to the 11th.

Yes Wendy, I'm thrilled that the mass is shrinking on it's own. It's briliant news.

Great you will be getting a new mattress Becky. I too need a new one, mine is so old now, but that I'm afraid will have to wait a while yet as I have more important things I need first.

I've been watching Christmas films all day. Although I did clean the kitchen thoroughly and did 3 loads of washing first.

Hi everyone!

Good that you are feeling better, Sandy.

Went to The Mall of America today
with my daughter and granddaughter.
Bought some things for my granddaughter at a few
specialty shops.

Friday was so miserably cold.
But it was sunny and seemed warm today
after the nasty weather on Friday.

Becky,
We bought a new bed a couple of years ago
and it made all the difference
in my back not feeling so bad.

Hope everyone has a good rest of the weekend!

Add me to the list of people who need a new mattress. More important things keep cropping up but hopefully I'll get one eventually.

We marked Remembrance Day yesterday Martha with silence observed at 11am but as Sandy said we hold our services and laying of the wreaths on Remembrance Sunday the nearest Sunday to the 11th.

I'm on a go slow this morning. Quite a few things on my to do list and so far I haven't done any of them.

I"m also not doing a lot today. I do have to nip to the top of the road to get a loaf of bread and some refills for my e-ciggy, but I might incorporate that into Louies walk as well to save me going out twice.

I'm sitting here with soaking wet hair so waiting for that to dry a bit before I go out.

I also want to wash all my towels. They are a very dark mauve so I have to wait until they all need doing at the same time because they have to be put through separately from other washing. It's a bloody pain. Next time I buy towels I think I will stick to white.

The floor also needs badly to see the hoover. I don't really fancy doing that but I suppose it has to be done. Although I might leave that until tomorrow.

I checked my bank accounts today and they aren't very healthy considering Christmas is so close. I've spent so much to move back here and getting the place organised. It's going to take me quite a while to recover financially after Christmas.

I still have no idea what to get anyone for pressies this year.
