I haven't given Christmas a thought yet. My bank balance is never healthy so Christmas always puts an added strain on it. One more reason why I'd cancel the whole thing if I could.

I always try and combine errands so I don't have to go out twice. I'm lazy. lol I do need to kick myself up the backside and clean upstairs this morning. I decided to get it over with and booked my car in for tomorrow morning so I can't put off the cleaning until then. Oh well lunch with my sister and friend later and my niece too if she's not working so I better get a move on I suppose.

The cat has had her head on my hand the entire time I've been typing. Pesky critter.

I'm thinking of going over to visit my Niece Beverley today. But to be honest, it's so bloody cold now and I am so comfortable indoors that I would have to push myself over there. I will make my mind up about that one by midday and see how I feel.

I actually seriously don't start doing anything about Christmas until towards the very end of November, but I do start putting my head in gear to think of presents and start with the question "What do you want for Christmas?" or "Give me a Christmas list".

Because I usually spend several days at my Sarah's over Christmas I don't even decorate, although I might show a bit of festivity in my place this year as I wont actually be staying over with them this year but just spending the actual Christmas Day there I think. Now they are all grown with their own lives (Jess and Aimee) I expect they will be somewhere off with friends on Boxing Day and Sarah usually always goes to the sales on that day anyway.

Today is going to be taking a hard look at the few books I have left and picking and choosing if there are even more I can get rid of. Or I might sort out the tools instead which I keep promising myself to do.

Just back from dropping my car off and it's pouring down. Typical! Got soaked walking home and it's only five minutes away from the dealer's. Hopefully I'll have my car back by lunchtime so I can go to my brother's after lunch. Before that I need to clean downstairs and pop round to check on an elderly friend.

No rain here today but freezing cold.

I did visit Beverley in the end yesterday afternoon. She is on a single crutch now and the cast if off but has to wear a leg brace in order to be able to stand and walk a short way along with wearing it during the night. She did in the end decide to claim from the chap that ran her over, so now waiting for all that to go through. She can't have her op on the knee until the swelling is down which could still take months.

My Sister Barbara also popped into Bevs and it turned out to be a very pleasant afternoon. I wish I could see my Sister more often but it's so bloody hard to get over to her with no buses going that way.

I had a really good night last night. The first time in I don't know how long I slept from 2am after getting up to have a pee until 8am with no following pee. That just doesn't happen. 6 solid hours with no pee.

We're not doing Christmas presents this year and with me just having bought and installed AC I'm glad.

Catherine is getting my help again for 4 weeks as she's of to the USA next week and Jeremy has his birthday on Sunday so he'll get something extra this year. Natasja got heaps of help when she moved in with her partner so that's me done for this year's xmas.

I might get a few nice tins of xmas cookies to hand out but that will be it I think. Smile

Yeah we call it remembrance day too here Sandy and Wendy.

Morning and it's going on 5am and I've been awake for nearly an hour already. Watched the CBS news on tv and see that the fall out from all the famous ppl is still ongoing in regards to violence/indecent assault etc. What a mess that is turning out to be and what a horrible shock to find out that soo many people where assaulted!

Are you talking about the Hollywood sexual assults? I found out a very long time ago that Kirk Douglas actually raped Natalie Woods when she was a very young starlette. Plus we have forever known about the "casting couch". I'm not surprised about any of this. It all had to come out sooner or later.

I spent some of my day today, spring cleaning (yes I know it's winter, lol) my living area and changing it around a bit to try and give me extra space. Not that it will be this way for more than a couple of weeks as the sofas should be due to be delivered about then.

Once they are delivered I am going to go around the second hand shops again in the hopes of finding a fold down gateleg table. I really don't want to have to fort out for a new one if I can help it.

I've never really taken notice about what went on with all the Hollywood celebrities Sandy.

I guess now with all the revealing of that nastiness, men finally will have to take note that groping women is not alright and women are not pieces of meat for their pleasure.
There's still such a great divide between men and women when it comes to rights, pay levels etc.

Really a very dull dark day here , with light rain, but mild . Been out in it every day , dressed in all my rain gear ,came home dry as a bone , but left my umbrella at home , cause it flies away lol .
Had a nasty nightmare last night ... I was with a bunch of people on this bus-trip , and the leader  of the group decided to stop for a break by the river side . We played some games , it was a fun day , until the leader all of  a sudden changed clothes  , she came out of the bus dressed like the wicked witch of the north , and kept showing us the middle finger  .... we all started laughing at her , and took off on foot left the bus behind .  Strange dream indeed .

Have a great evening everyone .

I haven't been surprised by any of the recent revelations either. I rarely pay any attention to so called celebrities but it's difficult to avoid them at the moment. I agree about men having to change their attitudes Martha but it's not just women on the receiving end of the abuse. Not just Hollywood either. A load of dirty secrets coming out of our parliament right now too.

Great news on the sleep Sandy. Long may it continue.

Got my car back. An hour later than promised but at least it's done.

Odd dream indeed GERU. I'm sure there are plenty of interpretations of it too.

So what were you talking about that was on your news Martha?

I don't think we will ever change all men's attitudes Wendy.  Their testerone totally controls many of them.  I think the answer is to also train our girls to be more forceful if confronted by a man that says or does something that makes them feel uncomfortable.

As females we have all been in situations where even the nicest of men don't understand that that suggestive comments, dirty jokes or coming into our space makes us feel bad because we tend uncomfortably laugh it off where instead we should pass the embarrassment we feel back on to them by outright telling them and speaking up that it's not acceptable.  So both girls and boys need to be trained at a very early age I think.

Martha and I chatted on Skype until the early hours and yesterday was the day I quit drinking caffinated tea so this morning I have woken up with a really fuggy head.  I might have to have a cup of coffee if the head gets worse to dose me up with caffeine again.

I am absolutely determined to clear out the boxes under my bed today.  Every day I promise myself I will make a start and every day I put it off.

Just the general news here about all this groping and indecently assaulting people Sandy. It does indeed seem to be getting worse with all the cases getting reported these days.

Yes was a great chat Sandy Smile Good morning again and I'm just having a quick check of a few boards before going outside to water the garden at the front.

Wendy we're having another issue here in our government with more and more members being thrown out for having dual citizenship!

I saw the first batch of those Martha. I didn't know until then it wasn't allowed. Ours are just a bunch of dirty old men it seems.

Yes girls need training too Sandy. Teenagers seem to just accept it as part of life which surprises me. You'd think they'd be the ones speaking out but they seem to think that's how you fit in. Sad really.

Very wet this morning so I'm glad I don't need to go anywhere. Washed some bedding and did a bit of ironing. Got the wheely out and that's just been emptied, ran some scans and windows has updated so I'm just having a play online now until I decide what I can be bothered to do.

I have aboslutely no idea what you two are talking about. Obviously I must have missed something on the news?

I've been trying to find a man with a van to move my dining table and large chair over to Sarah's when the sofas are due for delivery. Then Charlie comes in for a cuppa today and he has offered to do it. I just have to let him know when I need them moved.

Other than that I have had a really quiet day. I more or less rested all day because I think I over did it this last couple of days so soon after being in hospital and my insides had started to feel a little uncomfortable, so thought a complete day of rest would pick me back up again.

Morning and a quick fly by before rushing out the door. Had thunderstorms last night; overnight and into this morning and it looks like more is coming in so posting while I can.

Sandy we were talking about the whole groping/assaulting scandal that has been unfolding in Hollywood. As I said before ... the lid was lifted and now more and more disturbing cases are coming to light!

Bloody sick bastards .... I just can't stand to hear some of their excuses as to why they do something like that. I don't care how bad or deprived your childhood was; in this day and age with everything openly getting discussed online, on tv and in magazines; there is no excuse for this and everyone knows that this is NOT normal and NOT ok.

So men need to stop trying to hide behind those excuses and own up to the fact that they have sick twisted minds and that they are a danger to women and kids.
I feel the same way in regards to rapists ... as a man, raping a 2y old child ... serious ... you are telling me that they don't know that that is sick and twisted? How can they do that to such a little one?
Now if they saw a sexy looking 18-20 year old I can better understand. Still doesn't make it right ... but to attack a child .... it's deserving of the death penalty!

Anyway I better get of my high horse and get a move on ..... later ...

Ahhh, I thought originally that's what you were talking about but when you said above that you've never taken notice of the Hollywood celebrities, I thought perhaps you were both talking about something else.

Yes, I've been following that since it first broke a few weeks ago. Not only do their perversions sicken me but it amazes me that they are so shocked when it all comes to light. They forget that those kids will one day be adults and there is a high chance they will then start coming forward.

I woke up this morning to a brand new firefox as I expect you all did too. I can't believe how fast it is now. I honestly thought it was my computer dying where FF was so slow. I kept having to shut it down and most times restart my comp where FF was continually spinning on pages.

I have to nip to the top of the road later as I have run out of e-cig refills and then most of the day I am going to spend looking on line (window shopping so to speak) for what I can buy my girls for Christmas.

I heard mention of the new FF but haven't updated mine yet. I don't often use it but I might take a look.

Apart  from the whole pervert thing Martha and I were also talking about some of their politicians who apparently aren't allowed to hold office because they have dual citizenship. No connection between the two subjects I hasten to add.

I'm just back from grocery shopping. Cold out there. Took a while to thaw the car before I left and those roadworks are still causing long delays. I'll be glad to see the back of them but it's going to be months yet. Nobody really knows what they're even doing apart from causing chaos.

Had an e-mail just now to say my daughter is coming up for an overnight next Friday but as far as I know it's a quiet weekend for me this week.

My FF updated automatically. I'm liking it very much.

Jeez Wendy. That's going to really mess up the roads for the Christmas shopping traffic as the time gets nearer.

It's nice that your Daughter is coming to stay. My Aimee popping in yesterday for an hour or so and raided my cupboard for goodies to take back with her to watch a film.

I"ve got a shopping delivery coming this afternoon, and as it's freezing cold out there today I'm really pleased that I don't do supermarket runs anymore.

I sat up until 4am this morning watching the second series of Victoria episodes one after the other. I was simply too tired though to watch the very last one so will watch that later.

I'm not doing very well on this no caffeine business. Believe it or not, lack of caffeine is making me nibble all the time. So today I'm going back on my ordinary teabags. I do not want to get fat again.

I updated it but didn't see anything exciting about it. I'll stick to Pale Moon as my main browser.

My daughter is visiting before they go on holiday. My sister is going on the 27th and my daughter on the 30th. Both to the same resort in the Dominican Republic. Different hotels though and my daughter is only going for a week whereas my sister is going for a fortnight. Pure coincidence. Neither knew the other was going until I told them.

I watched the Children in Need telethon last night. They raised a record £50.1 million on the night which will go up quite a lot still as usual. Never ceases to amaze me how they manage to up the total year after year. I enjoy seeing all the projects the money is spent on too. All goes to disadvantaged or sick and disabled children across the UK.

Aw thanks Wendy for clarifying that about the politicians here ... my head must have been under a rock for me to stuff that up like that lol.

What a brilliant effort for the Children in Need!! Well done and for such a worthy cause too Smile

Morning  ... I was about to get changed and head out to meet a friend for breakfast but she cancelled on me the last minute.

Sun is out, skies are blue so I might spend some time in my gardens today instead.
I was going over to see Jeremy as it's his birthday today but he's in the middle of exams and asked us all to please not come and disrupt his studying.

We're going out on a belated birthday lunch next weekend now.

There doesn't seem to be much of an update with FF visually but boy is it bloody fast now.

Children in Need always do so well.  And it's great entertainment.

Happy birthday to Jeremy and enjoy your gardening.

I'm not bothering with Church this morning.  There are too many people around with colds, chest infections and goodness know what else.  I don't want to be in a closed space with a mass of people spreading their germs.

Instead Louie and I are going to go for a bit longer walk to see if I can stay away a bit longer from a loo now that I have a shorter stent put in.  It's a sunny but cold day and I should make the most of these decent days really.

At the moment Louie is freaking out because I've made my bed early and he can't get back in it, lol.

Awwww poor Louie. lol Enjoy your walk Sandy. It's sunny here too but very cold. Gone 11am and the frost hasn't started to thaw yet.

Yes Children in Need is a great night although it's still not quite the same without Sir Terry.

I've got the latest version of FF but still can't see the chatango boxes or a few other things on the boards so no idea why this is. I checked everything I can think of and went through add ons, extensions etc but no good.

Sandy hope you can walk further/longer now without any problems.

Thanks both for Jeremy's birthday wishes Smile my baby turned 26!

Natasja gave me a nice spice carousel when she moved and I finally got around to emptying all the jars out and soak them. Some spices  where outdated so I need to restock them this week.
Going through that spice carousel and putting it on my bench has given me some more needed space in my pantry cupboard now.

When I last moved house I found spices in my cupboards that were over ten years old which shows how much I cook. lol I could claim I use fresh herbs and spices but that would be lying. It also shows how often I clear out my kitchen cupboards. Disgusting creature! If it's behind a door I rarely open it stays there.

Boring housework on my agenda this morning and then lunch with my sis and co later. I won't see her for a month after today. She's only on holiday for two weeks but because she flies out and back on Mondays we'll miss three of our usual get togethers.

I need to walk along to the Post Office to get some stamps too but it's pouring with rain so I'll wait and see if it improves a bit.

I'm the same Wendy.  I have gone through phases throughout my life believing I needed a massive spice and herb selection, only to find myself using the odd one or two the odd once or twice.  They then become outdated and have to be thrown away not to be replaces.

Up until very recently my store cupboard was also the same as yours is.  Packages of food never opened and left in the back for (I'm not going to give a date, lol).  I am very good with that problem now though.

It's really strange about you and those chatango boxes Martha.  Even with the update I can still see them perfectly.  I can't begin to think why you can't.

I did 4000 steps yesterday, which I know isn't much to most people but for me and my bladder, that's pretty good.  I'm going to stick at 4000 a day for a week and then add another 500 on the following week and so on

Louie is also in for a little shock regarding retraining.

1) My bed is going to be made the moment I get out of it.  Gone is him being allowed to get into my bed as I get out of it and me leaving it unmade until he decides to get up.  He has his own bloody bed, the little shite, which up to now he tends to just use to hide the socks, paper, hair bands and other stolen bits in.  You wouldn't believe the rubbish I found in it the other day when I cleaned it out.

2) Treats are being cut down.  He is getting a little too round and heavy and if I let him carry on like this it wont be long before he could be called fat.

3) This allowing him a puppy pad in the bathroom on wet days because he wont put a foot outside the door if it means getting wet stopped yesterday.  I will still put one down when I go to bed incase he gets taken short in the night (which he rarely does), but that's for my own convenience so that he doesn't disturb me.  I will also put one down if I have to leave him alone for more than an hour or so as I hate the thought of him having to cross his legs if he gets desperate waiting for me to come home.

I've never before allowed my dogs puppy pads, (although Bayley sometimes got me up to go outside at 3 or 4am as he got older and I wish I had thought of puppy pads then) and I've certainly never before allowed my dogs to order me to give them a doggy treat when they want one.  I've given into Louie because he's like a two year old toddler, keeping on and on until I go to the drawer and get out a treat.  I give in just to get some bloody peace.

He wasn't happy when I woke him up and dragged him out of bed and into the wind and rain this morning though.  He did do his business but instead of wanting to wander around the gardens as he normally does, he then headed straight back indoors.

I don't really have much to do today so it's gonna be a play day, shopping on line day, and watching tele day.  My 4000 steps will have to be done indoors today apart from Louies trips out to wee.  He certainly wont want to go for a proper walk today unless it brightens up.

My girls use those dog pads for when it's real bad weather and the dogs can't go outside.

Louie has been spoiled lol so good luck on the re-training Sandy Smile

Morning all and not long woken up so sitting here with my coffee and browsing a few boards.
