Welcome to the Christmas Season Jabber.

Wow, we are actually in the last month of the year again.  I feel as if my life is on fast forward.

My plans for this month are......

1) Buying and wrapping Chrissie Pressies, and having a bloody good Christmas.

2) Making a Victorian style petticoat for as little money as possible.

3)  Finishing setting up my 7 year A5 diary.

4)  Actually hanging the pictures I have on the walls.

5)  Building up my strength even more.

Yesterday I had to walk to the post office to post off my DNA sample that my girls bought me for my birthday to Ancestry.co.uk. and whilst doing that I looked in a couple of 2nd hand shops.  I found a very pale blue flat sheet in perfect condition that I am going to use for making the petticoat.  I will have to buy some lace for it though which may come to quite a bit as a lot is going to be needed.  Or I might make this first petticoat quite plain as it's a practice run.  That way it wont cost me any more money.

I'm still waiting on my ink and more photographic printing paper to arrive before I can continue playing with my A5 filofax.

Morning Smile

Perhaps they have a sale on soon for lace material Sandy.

I'm still playing with my printer settings and have just found out that my printer does not do automatic double sided printing. I can however do it manually but have to be so careful as it does not line up properly on the other side. Seeing as I still have an extra black and 1 colour cartridge I will have to make do before I consider buying a new printer that does do the double sided bit.
Bugger ..... Neutral

My plans for this last month of the year are ...

1) Redoing my garden bed ones the palm trees have been removed

2) Changing my living room around ones the old little gas heater has been taken of the wall.

3) Plant my herbs for the summer season in the hanging pots I put up yesterday.

4) Sew new narrow curtains to add to the net curtains on the front living room window.

5) Sort out & wash the clothes and collect more for the homeless people.

6) Put my car in for a service.

7) Start on creating my planner pages.

I might actually use the remaining ink and create the dividers for the 2 planners I want to use and then buy a new printer and start on the pages itself. Still figuring out the best way to go about this.

I hated manually doing double sides because it was so hard to get the paper up the right way for the reverse side.

I'm actually using Filofaxes own plain paper so that it not only already has holes in it but it's also thinner than ordinary printing paper. Normally I would use ordinary A4 printing paper cut in half if I wanted A5, but as this is for a special project I thought I'd stick to Filofax paper even though it's a more expensive way to do it. Although one can buy A5 printing paper to save the cutting the A4 in half all the time.

I have to run to the shop at the top of the road as soon as I am dressed. I ran out of toilet paper late last night. I thought I had another whole pack of 4 stashed away but when I went to get them out I had none. I've never in recent memory run out of loo roll.

Another freezing cold one today, so not looking forward to going out.

The only time I ever ran out was when my kids first left home. They'd come and visit and take my spare packs home with them. Drove me nuts. lol My youngest was very good at getting her dad to take her to the supermarket for nappies and stuff too once her first child was born.

It's raining here this morning and a few degrees warmer than of late. Supposed to reach 7C today. Heatwave!

I've just received confirmation that mum's bank accounts are closed so that's the last of the paperwork done. Finally! A nice little donation to the local hospice to sort out this morning and it's all over. Both my sister and brother spent time there and they were impressed by the care they received and mum would be happy to see the money go there. We asked for donations at the funeral rather than flowers (apart from kids and grandkids who did two floral tributes) and added to the remaining balance in her accounts after everything has been sorted they'll get a nice sum of money.

Pleased to hear that part is done and dusted now Wendy. And what a lovely gesture to donate to the local hospice Smile They will be very happy with that no doubt.
I worked in a hospice for a while and found it very humbling and the contact one has with the patient and their family is so much closer then in a hospital.

Morning from a sunny and already warm Perth. We're in for 37C and probably even higher today.

Sandy I never used a size A5 in my printer and never even looked for that here ... learned something again lol. I only ever bought the A4 paper and used that.

I definitely want a printer that does the double sided bit automatically now as i want to get stuck into redoing my planners and make better use of them. Will do a search and see what I can find and perhaps with the xmas season sales I might get lucky lol.
Just added it to my vision board in writing Smile

Oh my girls are shocking at pinching my loo rolls too when they visit. Same with cans of coke. I do only buy those in 24s to keep stocked up for when they visit. I don't drink fizzy drinks myself. But not only do they drink them here, but they always ask to take extra ones with them when they go.

I am now well stocked up again on loo rolls and coke.

I'm so pleased for you that all that work is now over with Wendy, and you can now get on with mourning her and the healing for her loss.

You know Martha, I never even thought about seeing if one could buy A5 printer paper. It never entered my head it might exist. I only found out about it when first moving in with Sarah, as the stationers over her way stock it, and I happened to notice it on their shelves one day.

I'm just sitting here typing this whilst having my last cup of tea before going to bed. It's already nearly 1am, but I think I might watch a film once under the covers. That's if I can stay awake.

I don't drink fizzy drinks either Sandy so no way am I stocking up on them. lol

They are humbling places Martha. So many brave people in them. The nurses at this one and the Macmillan nurses who cared for both my siblings at home attended their funerals too and were visibly upset. You'd think they'd become used to it but it seems not. I don't know how they do that. They're as brave as the patients in my opinion. As you say they tend to get much more involved with the families too.

It's damp and dreary again today. Forecast is a max of 8C or 46F so not freezing any more but still feels nippy in the breeze. I'm just chilling today and catching up on a French thriller I've watched the first two parts of. My French isn't that great these days so I have to actually be watching the subtitles rather than keep flicking between tabs. Rare I have time to do that.

Hi everyone.

I did some Christmas shopping at Burlington, Walmart and Walgreens
yesterday. All of us adults don't buy presents for each other anymore.
We only buy gifts for the children.
My daughter has four children and her partner has two children
from his first marriage.
So they have 6 kids to buy presents for.

They had 50% off on fancy chocolates again
so I bought some of those for my family to snack on
during the holidays. I don't care for chocolate,
except the occasional craving.
But I know almost everyone else in the universe loves chocolate.  :0)

Have a great rest of the day!

When I was part of a very large family (Sadly most all gone now) the children were only bought for.

Now I only buy for my girls, My eldest Sister, my Great Nephew, and anyone else that might be spending Christmas Day with us.  This year there are two extras because there is now Sarah's new fella Martyn and his son Jake.

I eat mostly only dark chocolate, and in moderation it's actually good for us.

The weather is the same down here Wendy.

I wont watch a subtitled film as going from text to images while watching tees me right off.

I've spent today, as you can see, playing at changing this skin.

As usual if anyone sees any colours that are wrong (orange?) please let me know where and I can fix it.

Brilliant new skin Sandy! Looks great and so far not seen anything out of place Smile

Just a quick Monday morning drop in before heading out the door ... back later in the day/evening.

Hi Kerri. That makes two of us on the chocolate. I'm not a fan at all but do have a craving once every blue moon.

We stopped buying for each other decades ago and started buying just for the kids but the number of those got so ridiculous we gave that up too. Most of them are adults now and most have kids of their own. It would be impossible to buy for them all. I just buy for my kids and grandkids now apart from an elderly friend.

I rarely watch subtitled things either Sandy but I have watched a couple of very good Swedish police dramas recently and now this French one.

Cold and drizzly this morning. I haven't decided what to do with the day apart from some housework.

Thanks Martha. I remember now though reading your reply that I haven't change the colour of the quote or the code boxes. I will stick one of each of thos in here and then go and change them.

Code:

I thought I'd make an actual colour of skin that I can keep after Christmas by just taking away the Christmas images. There is no way I am going to feel like making another totally new skin in the new year, and I was fed up with the green anyway.

I've slept late this morning - 9:30 - can't understand why though, that just doesn't happen.

I have no idea what I am going to do with my day yet. Charlie is coming tomorrow to move my table and large chair over to Sarah's so I will be lounging on my bed or sitting on loads of cushions on the floor until my sofas arrive on Thursday.

I'm going to take the opportunity of having a virtually empty living room to cut up that sheet I bought to make the petticoat that I want to make.

Never say never though Sandy and knowing you, you'll get bored again and start on another new skin hahahaha. Smile

I still haven't had the urge to create a new skin and haven't touched the one on my test board either. Perhaps one day I will get a burst of creation lol.

I love dark chocolate and can really eat myself sick on it.

It's not the making the skin with the actual colours.  It's the trying to figure out what theme I want and then sorting out images.  Thinking of a theme is nigh on impossible and finding the images and then altering them is so time consuming.

I do wish you would make a start on your board as you used to have so many good ideas regarding themes.  I need inspiration woman.

Of course you are remembered @TaraLynn7- It's nice to see you again.  Never worry if it's a long time between visits.

This is a busy time of year.  Not for me actually as I don't have much to get because I'm spending Christmas with my Daughter.  But for others there is stacks to do I know.

Well after my last post I decided to go and check to see the latest version from Forumotion and it seems although still in beta it's pretty stable, so I have installed that on my test board and will have a play with that Smile

I do want to recreate some of my old yuku skins here as I put so much time and effort into those.
Luckily I saved all my images as indeed the time spend on those was huge.

I've just been over to your test board to look see.  Will keep popping back to keep up with what you are doing over there.  It's worth trying out.

Charlie is coming late this afternoon to pick up my dining set and large chair to take over to Sarah's, so I will be lounging either on my bed or loads of cushions on the floor until they deliver my sofas on Thursday morning.

Aimee and Jess did another unexpected pop into me early yesterday evening, and we were all happily chatting when there was a knock at the door.  Aimee's hand brake had slipped on her car and it had rolled back and scraped the side of the chap (John) in the next block Jaguar.  His son is a panel beater though so it wont cost much to repair, if any.  It looks to me though as if it just needs a good buff down and bit of a re-spray.  No actual damage was done.  It's 15 years old but he loves it so.

It looks like the fire alarm must have gone off in "The Manor House" as all the oldies were piling out on the lawn just now.  False alarm as they have all gone back in and no fire engines.

This is my 3rd day of feeling lethargic, I"m hoping it's not the start of S.A.D. this year.   I must get out with the dog in a short while to get some fresh air and sunlight.

Oh wow how lucky was Aimee that there was no more damage!! They would charge her an arm and a leg in the repair shop that's for sure, especially as the other car is a Jaguar.

We've had power outages here yesterday and every time I re-set my microwave's clock the darn power went out again ... sigh. Heard later that a car had plowed into a power pole.

Well matie we might just have to up the ante on our Skype session if you keep feeling down ok Smile

I was sitting in my recliner last night and all of a sudden I saw my living room differently. First I had no idea what was going on but after a few blinks the room came back to normal.
Then I woke up at the crack of dawn this morning after a nice dream ... and yep I dreamed I was re-doing my living room in the exact set up as I had seen.
Hmm ... might have to put this on my vision board I think.

Very lucky girl! Just small bodywork repairs cost a fortune these days. She better get that handbrake checked out too.

The weather here is dull, drizzly and chilly. Enough to make anyone depressed Sandy let alone if you suffer from SAD. I'm waiting for my energy bill which should have been generated a week ago. Not looking forward to seeing how much it is already and we're only just coming into the coldest months.

Did you like what you'd done with the place Martha?

Yes she was very lucky.

I haven't bothered to set a microwave clock for years, simply because of that reason of the power surges or cut.

Very strange your story of seeing your living room different.

I am very pleased that half my electric bill is all part of the rent. It's not such a large bill to pay for me every 3 months. It's the utility bills that keep us so very poor.

I'm sitting in a virtually empty living room now.  Charlie took the furniture over about 4pm.  All I have on the floors is loads of cushions and the dog's toys.  I have the bed for lounging on and I am using the middle size of my set of nested tables as a chair to sit up at my computer.

The sofas are coming tomorrow morning sometime.

Hello Sandy, Martha, Linette and all the others.

Sorry I have not been in for awhile but it is not easy like it was with Yuku where we were connected globally and locally through Yuku system. Now we are spread out. But here I am and wanted to come in. Did not think you changed anything, but was surprised. Love it!  Great job like always!

Anyway, you made some changes -- enjoy your holiday's everyone! I should be in more but with the holidays who knows. Want to spend a lot of time with family because some I am not sure how long they will be here among family. So this is a great opportunity to get together.

Peace, Love and All the Happiness in the world!

I hope your sofa arrives early Sandy and looks as good as you hope. That Charlie is a godsend I reckon. Still no gas and electricity bills which is annoying. I might ring them later but I'm not in the mood to listen to crappy music on the phone right now. Yes those bills keep us poor. Sheer greed on the part of the companies if you ask me.

Recycling is out, dishes are washed and I'm deciding what else I can't put off.

The rain has stopped for now but blizzard conditions are forecast for tonight and tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the compliment on the skin @Linette and @Beckea

That's one thing that I really miss about Yuku.  The fact that we were all connected.

Same with me regarding my eldest Sister Becky.  Barbara has now hit her 80s and from then on you just never know what's going to happen, so I try to see her as much as I can.

Sofas arrived at 10am this morning.  Having these gives me so much more room in the center.  Yup.  Charlie is certainly a God send.  He was in again this morning to touch up the paint work that the leak had affected and put the dog gate back that had had to be removed to get the furniture in and out.  He does so many little jobs for me that I really could do myself and not just the big jobs.

Not much snow yet but enough to cover my car. I'm popping in while it thaws. I've left it running with the heater going full blast. lol Hopefully I can go and do the grocery shop and get back before the main line of snow gets here. It's on its way.
