Merry Christmas one and all.

I've got the presents wrapped, clothes to be packed are hanging up ready to iron and pack in a bag, housework is done, Louie has had his flea treatment (ready to play with cats) and his bag is packed.  Another few hours and I will be off to my Sarah's.

I hope you all have a great and special day tomorrow.

Merry Christmas to one and all.

So annoying about the chairs Sandy. I'm still laughing at Louie and the muzzle though.

My visitors have gone so I'm just catching up on a few boards before I do anything vaguely resembling housework.

It a quiet day here so far. A bit of snow. A couple of presents. Roomie threatened to make breakfast but now it's after noon & he's not budged from the TV. Just loving his holiday lol.

Good morning all.  I hope everyone has had a lovely couple of days.  I know I have.

Shame about the breakfast Elaine, but seemingly his intentions were good, lol.

I was very nervous at first with Louie and the two cats, but all went well with them.  He didn't need the muzzle after all that, but I did put his citrus spraying collar on him for the first hour to keep him calm.  I had it turned off but he didn't know that so he didn't do his usual bounding around like crazy when first meeting the cats, but stayed close to me.

One cat hid under a bed all evening Christmas eve but the other, Floki, was braver.  Although I should say thicker.  There was no fur flying, no blood splattering and after 3 hours I wouldn't say they were firm friends, but at least they were respecting each other.  It really helped because both Louie and Floki are extremely curious animals and really wanted to what each other were all about.

Louie learned that when he got too excited he got a swipe on the arse with a pawful of sharp nails but he didn't retaliate he simply calmed down and backed off a bit for a while before he attempted it again.

Freia finally decided that Louie wasn't going to bugger off and so she decided to come out of the bedroom Christmas day afternoon.  She just walked out with her tail in the air and sat and watched the other two for a while and decided there was nothing to fear and normal service could resume and from then on just pretended the dog wasn't there.

After getting to know the cats myself I've decided that Sarah has there a Pinky and the Brain.  Floki is absolutely mental and Freia has all the common sense of a normal cat.

All in all it was a really good couple of days.  I came home at 5pm last night.  Jess and Adam dropped me off.  Adam being Jessie's boyfriend.  He arrived from Blackpool after a 10 hour journey yesterday afternoon to spend the rest of the week with them all.  Nice lad that one.

My fold down chairs finally arrived this morning less than 10 minutes after I had got up at 9am, and 45 minutes later I recieved a text to say they would be being delivered between 9 and 10am.  So much for getting warning of a delivery time.  But at least they are now here.

I was thrilled that one of my presents from the girls was a chromecast device which turns my tv into a smart tv.  This now means that I can watch my youtube lectures and such on the tv instead of the laptop, along with being able to have Netflix on the tele.  I've been dying to see the new Startrek Discovery and also The Crown, along with a couple of other things that only Netflix has.

While Sarah was having a bit of a tidy up from the Christmas mess yesterday afternoon I watched a couple of the Startrek Discovery episodes.  I think it's brilliant and can't wait to see the rest.

Today I'm treating as another holiday day and having a play day.

Snow, snow snow.....wow Ohio and Pennsylvania are covered! We only had a few inches too.

My mom now weighs a of 79 pounds now and was diagnosed with bladder cancer. She said I won't take chemo. She just turned 85. I was glad to hear her say that, I believe she will live longer without it. They're going to do some kind of  wash, I imagine its a chemo wash.  But he cut out the cancer polyp and she said the bloating is gone, the urgency is gone.  Which is all we know since she never told us and had her caretaker take her for the biopsy and all. If she had not woke up, poor Vicky would have had to call us and explain it all to us.  Good grief.

We had a very nice Christmas except everyone took turns being sick. Mother caught a cold or whatever is going around, we took her Christmas dinner, and some groceries yesterday. Well hubby did, I have been sick. My daughter prescribed me some heavy duty drugs. Not working really fast. I never seem to shuck those coughs very fast. anymore either.   I have nose sprays, inhalers, meds...geez.  The baby suddenly had a 102` Christmas evening, so my daughter grabbed her bag and examined her. She had her little ear all infected. But it did not keep her from putting on that Frozen dress we bought her and dancing around and singing the song.  Too stinkin cute, even If I say so.

This week is kidlet week.   We had the 2 oldest yesterday, oldest was feeling her best. Nose was runny.  Tomorrow we have all 3.   My DIL boss grandmother died so they need her to work, so we will have a house full. LOL  One day I feel OK the next bad again. So I hope I have the energy tomorrow.  Ken is home to help thank goodness.

Sandy nice the animals all got along.  LOL  You never know.  You will love your Chromecast TV device. I have the Roku and I don't take full advantage of it since we still pay a high amount for Cable.  I just hate to add more bills to watching TV.  I have friends who cut off their cable and went strictly with smart TV devices and antennas.   My problem is I am addicted to Hallmark movies, which I might be able to get on Roku, and recording.  I record my soap operas on the DVR, not sure if you can buy your own DVR.  I need to look into that. We pay almost $195 for basic cable, 2 DVRs house phone, and internet.    Then $145 for 2 smartphones, and one regular phone for my mom.  Hubby grumbles sometimes...LOL

We are thinking about taking the girls out to lunch today.  If we stay here all day all they do it look at their Kindles or smart phones. We are not very good about taking them away.  LOL  They got hoverboards for Christmas and OMgosh, they can go all over the living room with them.  Been too cold to go out and they have to wear helmets when they go out on concrete. Hubby wanted to let them loose in the garage and I vetoed that.  They also got a zip line which will be down to hill behind their house.  They have a trampoline, a heated above ground pool, 2 rooms downstairs full of toys.  It's like a resort out there, the yard is soo beautiful and backs up to the towns reservoir.  But their front yard is very pretty and their home is very appealing from the road.  Ah it pays to have your kids go to college.  Our son has a large home too, so far they haven't spoiled EB as much as the girls are. My son makes about as good of money as my daughter, but his wife only works part time.  She did not go to college, but they still do very well.  My daughter's husband works for the federal government and just got a new job and with a good raise.  It's very nice for us to have our children self sufficient.  We have friends who children are in their 30's and still living like teens, one is onto drugs so bad. She was raised in a good home, hard working parents.  You just never know.  I usually do not bring up my kids successes, the other friend daughter has been divorced 2 times now, and the younger daughter is divorced. But they do take care of themselves for the most part.  Count your blessings...I have one friend whose daughter did not want to go to college. She wanted her to go lie my kids did. She got a job at Red Lobster and worked her way up and is now a manager and makes very good money.  But she married a man who has 2 kids from a first marriage and they do not want any kids, so If I talk about my grandkids which are my whole world, then I get the "look".  There is another couple that runs with us at times or we play kitchen poker together a few times a yer, can't talk about my girls there either, she lost a 3 yr old granddaughter close to 3 yrs ago and cannot get over it. Well who would.  I don't know how I would be able to handle such a terrible thing.  The little girl was sick a lot, but she had been sick this time only a few days. They had her at the Dr that morning, and was holding her that evening, rocking her to sleep and she just died.  Of course they were hysterical, ran her to the hospital, then the cops had to take them downtown.  The cops knew them well, small town, but they said it was the law.  The parents were at the jail begging to let them go home. Horrible.  Then my last granddaughter was due on this little girls birthday, but we all know the story on that one...mine was born late and almost lost her.  Kiss your kids every chance you get.

Happy Holidays!

Season's Greetings!
It sounds like you both are having a very nice holiday ♥️
Everything is still very quiet here.
I'm waiting for a parcel delivery as well Sandy. Mine was supposed to be here by the 22nd. I'm tracking it and they say it went through customs on the 23rd, so maybe I can give Roomie his gift of a full set of longjohns before he goes back to work January 2nd. The estimated arrival date has been changed to the 29th. sheesh!
I'm looking forward to another evening same as yesterday, streaming a movie or two until i fall asleep Smile

Sounds like Louie and the cats sorted out the hierarchy Sandy. My cats were much the same. One a nutcase and the other a typically aloof aristocrat despite having moved in off the streets.

I'm jealous about Star Trek. I can't get that.

It's absolutely freezing here this morning with a dusting of snow but mostly thick frost. My shower picked this morning to die on me again so I had to have a bath and nearly froze to death.

Christmas went OK until the final few hours before my visitors left at which time they decided to have a blazing row about something and nothing. They want to come again on New Year's Eve and stay over. I'm so tempted to say no. However I have a shower that needs repairing again so I might have to agree. lol

Sorry to hear your shower packed it in again Wendy and yeah ... tell them they can only come over if they fix the shower Smile

Pleased to hear you had a good chrissie Sandy Smile and cats and Louie behaved as well .... bonus lol.

Elaine I finally got my parcel this morning ... was supposed to be here before xmas too.
I can understand there being delays though with all the winter weather you're having and seeing as mine came from China or Taiwan; they where on storm alert which usually means no flights going out.

We've had a lovely day on Boxing day with my lot and for the first time ever I was not allowed to cook, bring food, bring drinks, do the dishes, set the table or clean the table! I just sat there and was served everything and it was great! Smile Natasja's partner's dad, with his wife, where over from the UK so I met them as well as some real close friends that I knew from Natasja's work.
I must say my 3, with their partners, kept me entertained and they all made sure I didn't get time to get sad. Love them to bits for going the extra mile this xmas.

Chrissie day was a mix of spending with friends of the homeless project in the morning and in the afternoon I spend it with close friends.

Yesterday and today I caught up with some work around here and tomorrow starts my normal hectic day again so no rest for the wicked lol.

The longjohns arrived at 4 pm yesterday & Roomie really likes them. I got them from Wish.com and was a little worried about quality but they are very nice. The quality is excellent and so is the price. $23 CAD for the set! Now I'm looking forward to deliveries of a scorpion encased in amber & a rose quartz flower-of-life pendant & necklace  I'm so excited! But they aren't expected until next week or so.

I'm glad you had such a great Christmas Martha. You brought up some good kids. Nice to be waited on hand and foot occasionally isn't it? lol

Glad you're pleased with your purchase Elaine but that poor scorpion might not be very impressed. lol

We were supposed to get about 15cms of snow overnight and this morning but it's raining. I'd have preferred the snow except I have to drive to a few places this morning and I'm not keen on icy roads so for once I won't complain about rain. No thawing of the car to do either which is a bonus. I was expecting to have to clear the snow off it first thing.

@TaraLynn7 Sorry to hear you have all been sick over Christmas. Not nice at all. I got a bit lost in your story of friends and family as I find it so difficult to read long text where there are no paragraphs. It all jumbles into one for me, so get people muddled up as I read it.

I'm tapping into Jessie's Netflix at the moment for free. I did offer to pay Jess half of her bill all the time I am using it, but she wouldn't hear of it. I'm really loving that with this Chromecast I can it on my TV.

Startrek Discovery is great Wendy. Hopefully it will soon be on normal tele for all to see. I wont tell about it or it will spoil it for those that haven't seen it yet. But I will say that they have created something that can stand alone for all those that aren't usually into Startrek at all. Even my Sarah thoroughly enjoyed it and watched it with me as her second viewing, and she has never bothered with the old Startrek programmes or films. I have to admit to being one of those sad Trekies, lol.

Shame about the row blowing up over Christmas. It can happen. I remember one Christmas the same happened between my Sisters Pam and Penny. Which of course then involved Mum. I was bloody furious about it as it was in my home and I had worked so hard to make all perfect.

I'm so pleased your Boxing Day went down really well Martha. You deserve a bit of pampering. I hope the Brits are thoroughly enjoying down under.

I adore Amber Elaine and have a couple of pieces myself one with a few bugs within it. It was hand crafted for me into a pendant by one of Sarah's ex-boyfriends who made jewellery.

No snow here Wendy, but bloody cold enough. Lots of frost though, lasting all through and into the afternoons.

I got caught in a deluge yesterday. It was freezing outside but lovely and sunny, then all of a sudden on my way back home with no warning the heavens opened. I got soaked to the skin.

Today I have been sorting out my wardrobes. Organising and tidying things up. They have needed doing since moved in, but as nothing could be seen once the doors were shut I didn't think it a priority. All done now. Unless I come up with better ideas.

Happy Weekend!
My scorpion arrived yesterday late afternoon. I love it. It feels good in the palm of my hand.

Roomie is out hoping to return & exchange an item at Costco. He tried yesterday but the line-up to get in was out the door so he just left. SO not worth the aggravation LOL
The sun is just now beginning to shine through. Looks like it will be a nice day after all!

Oh nice piece of Amber there Elaine Smile
My favourite crystals are Sodalite, Red Jasper, Blue lace agate, Howlite and Lapis Lazuli.
I wear my Chakra bracelet often and that all the different crystals in it.

I love the Wish website and have ordered a lot of items through them. Good pricing and so far have always received my parcels in good condition.

Yes I am very lucky with my 3 Wendy and now that they are older they tell me if it hadn't been for me, they would never have had the perseverance/stubbornness lol to achieve what they have so far.

Thanks Sandy and yes Andy's dad really likes coming to Australia and has been a few times already. Him and his wife travel all over the globe now that they have retired. They will go home for a week and then they're of to Spain and Greece I believe.

I know it's just psychological but am already feeling strength from the scorpion. I feel like I can possibly make changes that need to be made in my life. I know she is dead and gone, but wow what a presence she has!

Take the credit Martha. It may have some element of luck to it but mostly it's good parenting.

We keep getting showers like that out of nowhere Sandy. Some are hail and they definitely sting. The cat is scared of the noise they make on the windows and hides under my desk.

I'm expecting visitors today and overnight but haven't had confirmation that they are actually coming so I'm playing it by ear. If they do that's fine and if not I'll be enjoying some peace and quiet until the fireworks start tonight.

That's a gorgeous piece of amber @Elaine I love it.

I hope you find the coin you want @Karinsuezen

I just managed to get back with the dog this morning before the rain came again. I really hate using an umbrella and haven't used one for dozens of years but I think this year I may have to hunt one out. There seems to be no warning that it's going to rain. One minute bright sunshine and the next peeing down.

I've been staying up so late since being able to watch Netflix. I found a terrific series about 10pm last night and then ended up watching until 4am. A.D. Kingdom and Empire. It starts off in 33AD after the crucifiction and takes us through the occupation and persecution of the Jewish nation by the Roman Empire. I've read a lot about it so am interested to see it on film. Of the few episodes that I have seen so far, it looks like they are sticking very much to the official recorded facts, of both Romans and Hebrews along with some private conversations of Nazarenes quoted in the Bible.

Today I have a little tidying up of the mess I have made with my sorting out, a clean up of the kitchen and a machine load of washing. I can then sit down and watch a bit more tele.
