So glad they caught it early TaraLynn and hopefully your hubby can be treated without resorting to chemo. I can't imagine paying $1000 for any tube of cream. That's just outrageous. The gym and swim class sound much better value and it's great combining that with visiting a friend and some cheap shopping.

Amazingly I actually had a call from an engineer yesterday rather than the company. Not sure whether it was the same one but he apologised for my appt being cancelled and he'll come and do the boiler first thing Monday morning. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt re being ill because the girl who answers the phone sounded awful last week and the guy who rang yesterday sounded just as bad. He said the girl has given them all it so they're really struggling. He better show up though. lol

It's a lovely, sunny morning here. Very cold but calm and much more pleasant than the wind and rain. I'm just back from grocery shopping. Got a few chores to do but nothing major. My daughter and her partner are visiting later and staying over again before heading to something or other in Blackpool tomorrow. I'm going to enjoy the peace and quiet while I can.

Tara I answered that question on my board so won't repeat myself here.

Fingers crossed the man shows up on Monday then Wendy!

Sandy I still haven't done my new curtains yet ... and not in a rush either so will get to mine when I feel like it.
I did pick up my new printer so might play with the settings etc over the weekend Smile

Just spend some time updating info and help/charity stuff for my next print out for the local people here that I help. New stipulations and overall changes and some new website addresses had to be double checked. That's all done now so I might go and read for a bit and then try and actually sleep overnight for a change.
It's been a while since I've had a normal night's sleep.

I'm popping in for a quick hello before getting into bed. Too tuckered out to make dinner, so I think I'll finish watching Cleverman episodes. It's a unique Australian drama that I like.

That is good news about the eye Marie.

Louie is as bad with the changing of the bedding too Wendy.  Everything is a sodding game to him.  Fingers crossed for you the boiler man actually turns and and finally mends the damn thing.

Seems there is good an bad news with you Tara.  Hope things continue to get better for you all.

Would you believe I still haven't finished of those blasted net curtains Martha.  Each day I promise myself I will and then just ignore them.

Hi Elaine.

I went to bed shattered last night and was determined to sleep in as long as I felt like this morning.  What happens but I wake wide up at 6:45am and can't go back to sleep again so I got up.  Because of the dark mornings it felt like I was up in the middle of the blasted night.  I wasn't happy.

Now it's light I can see it's another dull, wet, cold day out there.  This is really peeing me off now and can't wait for the spring to come.  That's if we actually get spring.  That season usually misses us too, with winter lasting to at least May.

I'm not promising myself to do anything specific today as when I do that I end up doing sod all.

Lazy day coming up for me. Catching up on boards and last night's shows I missed. Visitors have just left so all is quiet.

I wonder whether Martha slept during normal night time hours. lol

Woohoo .... yes Wendy I did sleep during normal night time hours! dance 2 Nights in a row even!

I told the family I was putting my phone on silent and that I would reply to all messages in the morning.
When I woke up I had 37 messages to read and a few to rely to hahaha.

Gheez Sandy that sounds depressing and I really hope you actually get a Spring season this year. I would be searching for things to do inside and try and stick to some sort of routine. It's so easy to just waste days in winter.

Lazy day today for me; well lazy afternoon and I am going to shut the computer down and watch some Netlfix and have some nibblies with a nice hot coffee. Smile

Yikes! That's a lot of messages. I'm going to be good and do some cleaning upstairs today. With the engineer coming in the morning (hopefully) and going out for lunch as usual it will save me rushing to fit the housework in between the two since I don't know how long the boiler will take. I'm slow. lol

It may be sunny but it's so cold out there today that Louie absolutely refused to walk.  We got just down the path, he did his poo and then sat there rigid until I turned back towards the building.  One of my neighbours thought it hilarous.

I had to then go out again on my own to the top of the road to get a loaf of bread.  I thought my head was going to explode with the freezing cold wind.

My fitbit tells me that I got 8 hours and 21 mins sleep last night with 36 mins of that restless.  I also slept well the night before last too.  It's great when one can actually get a good night's sleep.

I want to play at sewing today but unfortunately I still have those nets to do which means I can't play at sewing something fun until I have done those.

Hello!
Today was a fiasco but I feel ok now after some Vodka. Not hurting so much. Roomie wants me to stay up to win Superbowl contests but I'm losing interest. I already did 3 of them and didn't win. Superbowl is sooooo boring. He knows I hate sports, especially on TV. I have to stay awake to win now but really don't feel much like doing so after he has intentionally devalued me to the point that I don't even want to be in the same room as him. I love my friend but omg he can be such a narcissist sometimes

I read it was an exciting game and a surprise win but it's not my thing either.

I never get more than five hours sleep and that's usually disturbed too. It's not enough.

Very cold here too. No sun and snow is forecast.

Engineer showed up on time and has hopefully fixed the boiler but I'm reserving judgement since it was supposedly fixed a few weeks ago and only lasted about ten days.

Just catching up on boards before lunch with sis and our elderly friend.

Well done on the sleep Sandy Smile I could not sleep with anything on my arm so a fitbit would be no good to me. Amazing how they can measure everything though.

Hiya Beckea Smile

Wendy that was a quiet night of messaging lol. It has been full on ever since as we're fighting (again) for mum to be able to stay there. The doctors say she can not go home but the facility says she's ok to go home and they need her bed. Unbelievable and goes to show ones more that they don't run those places for the benefit of patients but purely for the money.
Another meeting is planned for the 15th and we're trying very hard to get some of those doctors in to that meeting. So far 2 have responded to our call so fingers crossed common sense will prevail.

I hope so. It's ridiculous how much of a fight everything has to be.

We had a couple of centimetres of snow yesterday that's still here because it's too cold for it to thaw. Looks pretty but the icy roads and very low sun aren't fun for driving.

Nothing urgent to do today other than some laundry so I'm contemplating taking the poor car for a bit of a run. It's been sitting there frozen for a few days. I hate that low sun off snow though so I'm still procrastinating.

Freezing! Its better than wind and rain but I wish Spring would hurry up. I've just brought the wheely in after the bin men emptied it and it still had snow on it despite being tipped upside down. It's frozen solid.

I've done dishes and a bit of ironing and changed the bedding. I've earned a sit down and a coffee. I did eventually take the car out yesterday so at least it should start first time when I need it tomorrow.

Hello & happy Thursday everyone!
Yesterday when Roomie got home, I was taking a nap. I woke after about an hour to find him cleaning house! He also apologized for being nasty and said he's been stressed out about money and things at work have been difficult. I said I appreciate that life has been throwing him a few curveballs but I'm not the one to take it out on. He agreed and said he'll make an effort to remember that if he gets a bug up his butt again.  Smile
Today I'm waiting for some deliveries and will make a nice dinner later on. There's not much left do around here but some dusting!
Have a wonderful day ♥️

Well that's progress Elaine. Good that he's acknowledged he's been a jerk. I hope he does remember next time you're not his personal punch bag.

Very cold and wet here this morning but at least it's above freezing so the car won't need thawing before I go shopping. Nothing much else to do today and I think I have a whole weekend without visitors. I'm looking forward to that and hopefully a lie in.

Yayy that is good news Elaine Smile and indeed fingers crossed Roomie remembers for next time!

I've been busy working outside and also catching up with a friend and even did a bit of dancing tonight.
Now debating if I should go to bed for a few hours or not lol.

Enjoy your weekend free of visitors Wendy Smile

Sandy where are you?

Good Afternoon!
Cleaning house and doing laundry -- did some errands today. So here just watching TV and doing my rounds of the boards I am because tonight I want to watch the opening ceremonies.

Happy Friday -- sun is shining bright and I even turned off the heat for the day probably have to turn it back on but for now it feels like Spring. Have a nice day everyone!

Happy weekend everyone!
I don't have much time on the computer lately because it heats up so fast. I need to keep shutting it down to cool but as it boots the temperature skyrockets. I still don't know what I can do about it. To buy another one is so expensive because of what I need it to do. I won't be buying one that can't handle everything. My Galaxy Note still works great but it's not easy to use for forums.
I'm about to make a pot of ginger & camomille tea and settle in to watch TV with my cat ♥️

Have you tried cleaning the fan or replacing it if necessary? Sounds like that's where the problem lies and it would be much cheaper than buying a new one.

All quiet here and I'm hiding indoors. The forecast was for rain and a breeze of 11 mph. It's teeming it down and the wind is trying to take the roof off. I do wonder sometimes where they get their readings from. I nipped out with some food for the birds earlier and struggled to even open my back gate against the force of the wind.

Sleep occasionally is probably a good idea Martha. lol

Hahaha I know right Wendy  Wink and I did catch up on my sleep this weekend. Visited a few new markets and spoiled myself.

Beckea I forgot all about the opening ceremony so missed it.

Oh damn that's not good Elaine and I too wonder if the fan might need replacing.

Sandy time to come out of hibernation again ... oh and keep an eye out for postie this week Smile

I think I'm going to hibernate too. We had quite a bit of snow for a few hours last night. By our standards that is. Looks very pretty. Max of 1C forecast for today so it's not going to disappear very fast.

Boring housework to get done this morning and then lunch with my sis later.

Hi all, sorry I've been missing.  I've had a few dark days where no amount of attempting to kick myself up the backside has worked.  A time when everything I see, hear or read I find so sodding depressing that I need to shut the world out for a while.

I haven't seen or heard from my girls for well over a week, until last night when Jess popped in for a few.  Charlie has been on holiday and gets back to work I think next Monday.  And actually I've been grateful that I have been left totally alone for these days.

A few days ago I received communication from a first cousin (Trevor) that I don't/didn't know.  This came via Ancesstry.com as we showed up as being cousins on both our DNA tests.  He is my blood cousin from being the son of my biological Father's brother.  Seems he has been trying to trace my Father for a while to get him to do a DNA test as well.

I wasn't sure if my Father was even still alive but I managed to find a Facebook account of who is one of my young half brothers for Trevor.  Trevor got in touch with him and now has my Father's phone number and address, so Trevor will be getting back to me at some point to let me know what happens.  Seems my Father (Ted) is still alive at 93 and still living down in Kent. That's a surprise for me as I thought he was long dead.

Anyway, because I've felt low this last week my place really needs a good clean as it's been totally neglected, so today I'm gonna post this, have another cup of tea, shower and then get stuck in.

Oh wow Sandy that is a lot to digest! So sorry to hear you've had a few dark days again Sad I was wondering if that was the case and didn't want to intrude on you.
Hopefully postie will deliver a small pick me up to you this week. Smile

I've spend all day outside in the gardens and am knackered now but oh so pleased with the results.

Wow hopefully that's the last snow for this winter Wendy.
