Sounds like just the break you need Martha. I hope you all have great fun. Dog sitting is a great way to have the fun of the dogs without the every day responsibility. Handy for Catherine too of course. lol

A very cold and frosty morning here but the sun is shining so much nicer than gales and rain. The car will need thawing before I go grocery shopping but it's a small price to pay for not getting drenched or blown away. Not sure whether my daughter is coming up this weekend or not. I expect I'll find out an hour before she turns up if I'm lucky.

Good afternoon peeps, stopping by to drop off a "Hello", I've been busy working, stressing, and now being sick. I am hoping all this will just stop and go away along with the snow but, not the job though I need and want that job.

Yes, it's still snowing here although it did stop for a few minutes to take a breather lol but, it's back full again. Supposed to get about 5-10 cm.

Anyways, hope everyone's having an awesome day so far.  hug

I hope you feel better soon Marie.

My daughter is coming today but not until this afternoon. She's working this morning. Staying overnight so I might not be around until late in the day tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good weekend.

More frost and sunshine here. Not supposed to get above freezing but it looks nice.

It's a very humid evening here but I take that over the cold and wet anytime lol.

Just a quick drop in before relaxing a bit and hopefully a reasonable night's sleep.

Wow! is it birthday time again for you Martha.  That time has flown by.

All the pavements around here are being dug up too Wendy, and narrow trenches laid.  I just couldn't figure out if it was a gas, electric or water company doing it until the other day on Louie's and my walk I saw a notice saying it was Virgin Moblie laying new, fast fiber optic internet lines.  Of course if anyone switches to them it's going to cost a heck of a lot more for wifi.

Our weather down here is getting slowly milder.  Well, the sun is shining a bit more.

It's Martyn's (Sarah's fella) birthday tomorrow and I have been invited out with them all for a birthday evening meal.  As I haven't been able to get out much this last couple of years I am looking forward to it.

I still have to be careful what I eat as my insides are still not healed completely.  Last Thurdays I forgot and had the chicken curry from our dining hall midday.  At 4 in the morning I was up and in the loo for two hours while my system cleared it out.  It wasn't a plesant experience.  It seems that spicy food is now no longer my "thing".  Looks like good old English nosh is now going to be for me in future.

I'm going to do a machine load of washing in a tick, a little tidy up and then out for a walk somewhere with Louie.

Visitors just left. We had a busy 24 hours. Went shopping, ate at a pub in town, visited my brother and ended up staying a few hours, came back here and had takeaway. I need to recover now. lol

Enjoy your meal out Sandy. Maybe sticking to English for a while is a good idea.

The workmen put barriers round all the places they'd dug up. The wind blew the whole lot of them over not long after they left on Friday so they're all laying in the street now.

I can't handle hot, spicy food anymore either Sandy but here's a trick for ya. Next time you fancy having a curry or whatever, make sure you have some peaches/slices to go with it. Just the ones you buy in a can as the peaches neutralizes the spiciness. I always have peaches in the house, just for that reason and it works a treat. Smile You still get to taste the yummy dish without the discomfort etc.

Been a roller coaster for us with mum and have written about it on my board so won't bore you here with it.
Then today my left leg gave way at the doctors and I twisted my back; so now I've got to go for spinal injections and I have just made the appointment for that. Seeing as we have a long weekend here this weekend coming, the next available appointment is for next week Thursday.
I will be popping anti-inflammatory pills till then I guess Sad

Ouch! I knew I avoided doctor's surgeries for a reason. Dangerous places.

More snow here and it's a max of 22F or -1C today. I'm not venturing out so will catch up on boring chores I suppose.

I've never been keen on spicy food. I prefer Italian with herbs and stuff rather than spices.

Hi Tara. As it's got quiet in here I sort of left it has a winter chat, but without December.

Brilliant idea about the peaches if that works Martha. I will remember that one.

I must get over to your board and do a long catch up. I've been through one of those times where I've been staying off the web apart from watching lectures on Youtube.

It got lost and it's March now. lol I think Winter jabber is very appropriate at the moment.

I put the recycling out earlier and about froze to death. The snow came halfway to my knees too so I got sodden. I was going to clear my car ready to go shopping tomorrow but gave up. The snow is coming down too fast and I'm fighting a losing battle. I just ordered my groceries online and will get them delivered. The car can stay buried until the weather improves. I just hope it starts by then. It's frozen solid.

It's 53F here now, at 7:30 in the morning.  I hope I get to go to the basement today to craft.  I am making a blingy hanging light.    But Ken has a cold, and we are keeping the middle granddaughter as she has been running a low grade fever.  My daughter came home from work yesterday since I had a Dr appt in Springfield, over an hour away.  So I hope she can get comfy in the basement and watch TV, play on her Kindle. I have a little toddler bed down there, I can tuck her in and put the TV in front of her.

Does anyone still wear knee hi's hose?  They are hard to find around here. Like what is the deal?  They are so much warmer than socks. Although I have socks too.   Also I cannot find my Almay eye liner I have wrong for years and years.  They have something called i-eyeliner but it smears on me.  Everytime I like something they quit making it.  I am allergic to most eyeliners so this was a good option for me.  Hopefully Walmart just quit carrying it, and I can buy it at Walgreens.

Does anyone go to the movies a lot? I think that movie Red Sparrow looks good but I imagine it's bloody and violent so I cannot sit through those kinds of movies. We don't go to the movies very often, its not too often we can find one we both want to see. LOL    I want to laugh and feel good when I come out of the movies!! Not mad, upset or afraid.

Good Morning!
I've been dealing with some illness lately too. At first, I thought it was a food allergy then I thought it was just recurring flu but it became strep. Lucky for me I know exactly how to deal with that without having to see a doc. I'm even having some coffee this morning, which has been off the menu during all this. Yummy!
Today I am going to break up my aloe vera plant. Babies are pushing the parent plant right out of the pot! I am also going to start some seeds indoors.
Tara, we rarely go the theatre. I like seeing movies on the big screen but loud booming base sounds put me to sleep so fast that it's not usually worth the price of a ticket. Last time we went to see a movie, we took in the IMAX which has much better sound quality and although it was loud, I didn't fall asleep. Expensive though.
Sandy, I'd be heartbroken if I had to give up spicy food. I hope Martha's peachy tip can work for you!
Whisper, WOW that's a lot of snow! Ours is gone now. We might see a bit more this season but not likely.
Oh my gosh Martha. What a horrible thing to happen. Hopefully, the injections will help you. I tried taking Flexeril anti-inflammatory pills but they gave me restless leg syndrome after only a few days.

No sign of Sandy still. I hope she isn't without power. The storm caused quite a bit of flooding in her area I believe. Plus loss of power and thousands around the country without water due to burst mains and other things.

Oh wow did it get that bad in her area then Wendy? Hope she's alright and at least can stay warm and dry!

I'm just sending her a quick message via WhatsApp ....

Sandy said it got bad for a few days last week with no food getting through to the shops and she was stuck inside but now all is ok. She's at Sarah's at the moment so no doubt she will be back online soon.

Hello and happy TGIF! It is cold here which is not normal. We're suppose to be in the 80s now not the 20s. I'm ready for summer. Have a good one.

Good Afternoon!
I spent the morning doing some light housework & preparing some vegan food to last me for the next few days. I'm hoping to not do too much over the weekend as I've been having some difficult spine and sciatic nerve issues. I've made a long list of movies to stream while I lay around  Smile. The one thing I will have to do is go to the veggie market. We will probably do that on Sunday.
The sun has been shining here for a few days. It's nice but still chilly in the mornings. 8°C here right now at 1:30pm.

Beckea this is the daily chat forum so you are in the right spot.

Ouch Elaine Sad I know all about that pain and it's no fun at all. Hope you got some rest after your shopping and got to watch some movies.

Wendy I find the week goes even faster when you get weekend visitors.

Natalie .. I think mother nature is throwing a wobbly hahahaha. Some have gotten so much snow!

Just a quick drop in from me while I'm at it ... still need to rest more after those injections so I guess I better get of my backside again lol.

Monday evening here
We never did watch movies which is fine cuz omg the stupid sciatic nerve pinch is too crazy & I cannot get comfortable no matter what.
I spent a few dollars at Wish.com today. I hope I still feel good about it tomorrow. The weather has been lovely, very Spring-like. I started some bell pepper and squash seeds and will try them in the clay bed when we are after the last frost here. I'll vinegar the bed to kill whatever is growing there then throw on all my old potting soil before adding the seeds a bit of fresh nutrient-rich soil on top. It's really just a game. Who knows if it'll work. Whatever happens is fine with me. I am refusing to stress about plants this year. Every year before I have worried and tried and it has never done any good. This year I'll throw the seeds down and if they don't work out then so be it ♥️

Wendy ... me behaving!! Laughing Nah all kidding aside ... I am behaving and listening to my GP with this one.
Have too much riding on this procedure to work.

Damn I'm so sorry to hear you have that pain Elaine Sad Do yo do any exercises at all for it?
I've got a sheet of exercises, given to me by my physio that I could scan for you. Or if I find it again online I can give you the link etc.

I'm sitting here just looking through Etsy pages. Time to get of my backside again though so wishing you all a good rest of the week.

Sandy ... you can come out of hibernation now! tongue

Maybe not. We have more snow forecast later in the week. It's turning cold again. Stay put Sandy. lol

Visited my brother yesterday just to escape from the noise of pneumatic drills. They're driving me round the bend. They're supposed to finish work on the pavements by today but there's no chance of that happening. I've got a few chores to do this morning that can't be put off any longer but after that I might go and visit someone else. lol

Yes Martha!♥️ Thank you♥️That would be great  sunny It never even occurred to me that there were exercises to help sciatica. Usually, I just spend a lot of time laying down with lots of pillows under my legs to keep the vertebrae from smashing together like they do from completely degenerated, non-existent disks.
No matter how I feel, I absolutely must go to the veggie market tomorrow.  This nursery rhyme comes to mind;
Old Mother Hubbard
Went to the cupboard,
To give the poor dog a bone;
But when she came there
The cupboard was bare,
And so the poor dog had none
 tongue cat .
