I did thanks. I feel for you on the phone company thing. With me it was my energy company earlier this week. They're an absolute nightmare.

I hope it is just a glitch Sandy. That sucks after you thought you were in the clear and able to get out more.

Not doing much today. It's cooler but sunny and breezy so I've hung washing outdoors. The cat needs combing and I've a few bits and bobs to get done but mostly planning on being lazy for as much of the day as I can get away with.

I despise that companies employ people with heavy accents.  But if one complains it's our fault because we are racist.

My insides only played up for a couple of days, thank goodness, and on the third day started feeling more normal and today I am fine.

Peeing down today, so there is no attempt to go out.  The dog can use his pee mats in the shower and I have order shopping to be delivered tonight. I'll quickly nip and pick up the meal from the dining hall at mid-day.  Not such a good one today, (sausage casserole), but as the shopping wont get here until 9pm - 10pm tonight, I might as well have a cooked dinner this afternoon.

Sewing today to keep me amused.  Reading, Tele, Youtube and whatever else I can think of to do.

I like sausage casserole. lol I did enjoy my quiet day apart from sorting out a problem with my daughter's e-mail account that turned into a much longer job than I expected. All fixed now. I'm off grocery shopping soon. Yesterday was rain and very strong winds. Quite a contrast to the weather we've had recently. The wind has dropped a bit this morning but it's still quite breezy and showers are lurking.

Glad you're feeling better Sandy. My weekend has been hijacked by visitors so I won't be around until Monday. Have a good weekend everyone.

Sorry to hear you are suffering Geru.  Sciatica is a pig.

Actually the sausage casserole turned out to be very tasty.  Sausages in a casserole is the only way I can eat them.  Other than that I'm not really keen on them at all.

My groceries came last night.  New driver, never been here before and as with other first timers he rang me to say he was lost so had to direct him.

Yesterday afternoon turned out really nice after the rain in the morning.  It's funny how Louie always knows when the weather is bad out there and just stays in bed not asking to go out, but as soon as the sun shines he is looking from me to his lead until I get up and take him out there.

I'm not happy with the pockets I am making as I think I have made them too short.  I only have photos to go by, no pattern, so it's been guess work.  Shame because the material I used was so pretty.  But hey ho, I want them perfect so will get more material and start again.

While I am waiting to find that material I'm going to start on an underskirt as I have a pale blue sheet I can play with for that.

Aimee is meant to be starting a new job on Monday so I wont see much of her again.  Sarah got the house she was after to rent.  Jess sent me photos of it and it looks nice.  All three bedroom are a very good size, which they all needed.  I think Aimee said they will be moving in on the 23rd of July.  I could have that date slightly out though.

I wont be having dining room dinner today as it's Lasagne and that is one dish I loath.

Our weather is so so, 16c, cloudy with sunny periods . I am feeling cold so it seems , still wearing a sweater and light jacket to go out  . And yes, Sciatica is a pig , and a big one too.Had it once when I was about 40 , but that bout was a baby compared to this one .
Been battling around with a big flare up of Arthritis for weeks now , and now this happens , ouch, ouch , need to pick up meds today .

Sandy:  I have never had Sausage casserole, but glad it was enjoyable for you . I actually love sausages , but I bake them in the Oven  , and they are Chicken , white meat , dark meat  , some fat ,  with herbs and spices like Curry etc
.
Sounds like you are having fun making that outfit , good luck . Hope the weather is good for you so you can take Louie for a little walk .
Nice to hear Jess was able to get the house , hope they will all live happily together , sure saves on money .

Talk about waiting for deliveries ... just finished waiting and waiting and waiting ....... , you can't leave cause they wont leave the parcel if you are not home .  Oh how I  miss my car, oh well , that's life

Whisper:  Enjoy your weekend with the company .

Hello Crystal , how is tricks ?

I was going to visit my Sister yesterday afternoon, but couldn’t get a lift.  Gary still in London, Beverley and Ted on holiday and Aimee not available.  Often Aimee comes with me to visit Barbara but couldn’t yesterday.  I really didn’t fancy cycling all that distance due to also having to cycle home after.  Instead Beverley has arranged to come and get me on Monday when I will also be able then to visit her as well as she has that day off of work.  Killing two birds with one stone.  I hardly ever see Beverley now she is back at work.

I’ve decided to finish the pockets even though they are a bit short (good practice run me thinks) and I made a start on the underskirt by unpicking the lacy hem of an old bed skirt I bought a long, long, time ago for a few pennies in a charity shop.  I will use that for the hem of the underskirt.  It took forever to unpick that lot.

I decided to use hand stitching on the pockets, just as they would have been made back then, but will be using the machine on the underskirt.  I don’t fancy sewing four yards of material by hand on areas that aren’t going to be seen.

I also watched an old film of The Book of Esther yesterday afternoon.  What a beautiful love story it is.  It’s about a Persian King marrying a Jewess.  It’s one of the books of the Bible I have never tackled so don’t know how accurately the film portrayed it.  I now need to read that book to understand the prophecies in it that would relate to what is going on in the world today.  All Old Testament Books either give prophecies and warnings for us today or prophecies of the coming of Jesus the first time.  You wouldn’t believe how many of them are happening in the world right now, today.

Today for me will be pretty much the same as yesterday.  Keeping myself amused and doing through the day what takes my fancy at any given time.

This morning here is very sunny and warm. The birds are having fun and the plants are looking vivid. I enjoyed a papaya with lime juice for breakfast. Roomie is in his usual Saturday position, on the couch watching cartoons tongue
I am dealing with severe sciatica today too Geru. I don't take meds but I'm already thinking about the vodka in the freezer. Yuk though. Not a great follow up to the beautiful & healthy breakfast! I'll probably just go back to bed, take a melatonin and sleep the day away if I can.
Sandy, I hope you will post photos of your creative sewing. I don't sew at all but I do envy the talent and desire to do it. Your project sounds very interesting!
♥️Everyone, have a beautiful day!♥️

I used to have the kind of patience needed to unpick things Sandy but it's long gone. I love lasagne. lol I am picky about sausages though. Some are just disgusting. I had a pleasant if tiring weekend but at least my visitors managed to behave for the whole time which is a rarity. Had a lovely lunch out on Saturday. Went to a carvery but I had lentils, carrots and peas in what they called a cottage pie. It was topped with sweet parsnip mash. Very tasty and all the veg from the carvery section you could eat with any main meal so I added a few plus way too many caramelized onions. Yummy.

Back to the grindstone this morning. Housework to do and then a late lunch with my sister and a friend. Sandy enjoy your visit with Beverley.

Geru and Elaine I hope you both get some relief from that sciatica soon. My sister suffers with it and I know it can be agony at times.

I hope you two girls aren't in too much pain today.

I haven't been for a carvery for ages.  We used to do it regularly.  Enjoy your lunch today Wendy.

I actually found the unpicking surprisingly relaxing.

I played at making a petticoat yesterday and it's looking really pretty.  However I don't think I've made it wide enough, but as I'm making it I am finding out that I could do some things in a better way for the next one.  It's going to be fine to actually wear under my normal unlined long skirts for every day though.

Hopfully I will be going to visit Beverley and Barbara this afternoon so will have another play with it tomorrow and maybe get it finished.

Another scorcher of a day today , not used to this around here, not doing much , will wash and set my hair, and do a pedicure if I can bed down without hurting that is ---------

Whisper: what is a carvery ? Is that were everyone brings something ? or is it a big roast of meat you carve a slice of .... lol , things are different over there it seems . at least it sounds as though you enjoyed your self .   I like lasagna too, but don't put spinach in it , I like mine nice and firm , so I can cut squares   .
I actually only eat one type of sausage ,very yummy , but a bit expensive , so buy them only now and then .

Sandy:   Hope your visit with Beverly will be happening today , and it was enjoyable .  I never wear skirts unless going out for dinner or some place fancy, I live in my jeans mostly , or dress pants otherwise .  I must remember you live in England .... got any fancy hats ? I love hats .
I do not sew any more, but used to ,  I still crochet when I can find the right yarn that is , also knit when I can afford it , but hobbies all cost money Basketball

Enjoy your day ladies .

Sorry Geru. It may be an English thing. A lot of pubs/restaurants will cook huge joints of various meats and slice them. You help yourself to some of whichever you fancy along with as many of the various vegetables as you can eat. Usually there's Yorkshire pudding and other extras as well. You can just keep going back for seconds or thirds of most of it.

Yesterday was fun. My niece showed up as well as she had an hour off work around our lunchtime.

I enjoyed the England match last night although they kept us guessing until very near the end. We should have been awarded a couple of penalties but they weren't given even though the offences were much worse than the one the Tunisians got a penalty for. That was the only goal they scored thankfully. We managed two but we were robbed really. lol Next England match is Sunday afternoon when we'll all be at the big annual family BBQ so I hope my cousin has a big screen set up by then.

Visiting my brother later but otherwise just a bit of housework needs doing.

I got to Beverley's yesterday.  Ted picked me up and I went back to theirs.  Barbara walked from her's to Bev's so we all had a good chat.  As Bev was making us all sandwiches for lunch Aimee text me to ask if I was home and when I said I was at Bev's she jumped in her car and came along too.  Just in time to have lunch too.

Bev's boy Conor was off work for the day and popping in and out so while we were all yacking in the conservatory he was inside watching, I presume, some lead up to the football game or could have been an actual game for all I know.  I assume by your post Wendy that England lost?  I'm not into sport at all so don't pay much attention.

Aimee of course dropped me off home on her way home about 6pm - It was a very pleasant visit.  Louie loved it as the doors of the conservatory were wide open all the time and he was in and out as he pleased.  More out that in really, as he was entertaining himself mostly by trying to get the rabbits to come out of their cages so that he could chase them.  Of course they took not a blind bit of notice.

A lot of hotels do breakfast too Geru, where we can go in, pay a set price, as with the carverys and it's a help yourself to all you can eat.  That's another thing I haven't done for a couple of years.  Well, since Sarah and Mark split up actually.

I love wearing hats Geru.  Or anything on my head really.  I do have a cap and also a beret for the winter, and for summer I have 3 straw hats.  I also wear a bandana type scarves.  I have 6 of those all different colours.  I like wearing those as it means I don't have to do anything to my hair, like pull it back or put it in a bun.  I can just let my hair hang down my back.  My hair is getting quite long now.  Jess said, it makes me look Armish when wearing one of those, lol.  My problem with hats is that I have a child's size head so it's difficult to find any to fit me.

I have taken to wearing jeans again too although not on a daily basis.  I so much prefer my long skirts.  I only have one pair of dress trousers but very seldom wear them.

I'm up really late this morning as I got carried away late last night writing a long email and didn't get to bed until 3am.  And as I am having a really slow start it will be midday before I am really sorted.

Wow you lot can talk a lot! lol!

Good morning from a cold and wet Perth. Still trying to catch up on a few boards and doing a poor job of it. I do have a tablet I could use to browse the boards but I so prefer to sit up straight at my desk. Plus slouching in my recliner with a tablet on my lap gives me sciatica trouble too and I read both Elaine and Geru know all about that one.

I did manage to sort out the speakers and volume problems I had with my tablet. After downloading numerous updates and deleting old stuff, I finally got it to work again. What a royal pain in the backside that was. Some windows update caused all the problems. I swear some updates are not worth the paper it was written on lol.

I've had to slow down with my usual running around due to my knee so I used that time to be a lazy bum and watch movies and tv shows. Smile I love my recliner chair as I can have my feet up and it also has brilliant back support.

Sandy so nice to read that you've been out and about again. Congrats to Sarah and the girls in getting that rental too!
Those 18th century pockets look so weird being worn on the outside.

Wendy that carvery sounds like the "all you can eat buffets" we have here. I like going to those.

One more coffee and then I better hop in the shower and get ready to see my GP for the scan results.

You've just reminded me Martha. I have to ring my doc's for x-ray results today. Glad to hear you're behaving and resting that knee. Don't get me started on Windows Updates!

No England won 2-1 Sandy. Should have been by a lot more. Nice that you all got to catch up and Aimee was there to take you home. Conor was probably watching another match. Self preservation with all those women having a good old chinwag. lol

The bandana's are particularly handy to have Geru when growing hair as they can be worn with hair at any length.  They certainly helped me.

Yeah, they are like a buffet Martha.  We usually get 3 choices of meat of which you can choose just one or all three and then as much veg as you want, going back and forth with your plate.  Same with the breakfasts the Hotels have.  With those you can have continental or full english (or both) with no restrictions on what you can eat or drink.  The cooks just keep bringing out the food as long as people are there to eat it and you serve yourself.  Some places are better than others depending on how decent the cooks are.

I'm pleased to hear England won Wendy, even though I don't follow sport.  Yeah, Conor must have been watching some sort of chatting about sport programme as I didn't hear him jumping up and cheering at any time which means it couldn't have been a game.  It gets very noisy in Bevereley's house when a game is on.

I finished one of the pockets last night.  I was surprised at how much it relaxed me sewing by hand.  As I've made it too small to be part of the outfit, I'm just going to use it for carrying around the dog's poo bags when I take him out.  But as I said before, it's allowed me to get over mistakes that I wont make on any I make in the future.

Today Aimee is picking me up to take me into Christchurch to the only sewing shop we have here for miles, as I need to buy some cottons.  I also want to look at the price of new material nowadays.  It's been a while since I've bought new.  I thought I'd see if I fancied new material for a real every day long skirt.  You just can't buy decent long flowing skirts in the shops anymore, even in charity shops you dont see them.

A couple of the ladies around here have asked me where I get my skirts as they think they look so nice, but of course I can't help them and have told them that I'm going to have to start making them, which has disappointed them.  I think they are fed up with constantly having to wear trousers.

I ordered myself some new calling cards, now that I have new telephone numbers.  They have arrived and I think are quite pretty.  I know they are a silly luxury but it's so much easier to hand someone a card then stand fiddling in the street with a pen, paper, and my telephone looking up my own numbers.  I'm constantly meeting and getting to know more of the oldies around here and being asked for my phone number.  I was making my own cards from the comp and printing them off on thin card, but professional ones look so much nicer.  £15 for a 100 I think is also very cheap.  Aimee wanted some as well, so I've treated her to them.

I don't put my address on them, just my phone and email, and then I fill the address space up with a quote.  This is my third set I have bought over the many years.  The first set I ever bought was because I was doing spiritual readings.  The second set was, like these ones, a pure luxury when I first moved to Dorset.

I had better do myself something to eat before I am picked up by Aimee, so will post this now.

Good evening everyone♥️
It's been pretty warm here the past few days. Too warm to be outside.
Hey Beckea!♥️
Geru,  for sciatica I try to take in as many nutrients in my food as is possible. Many naturally anti-inflammatory foods like tomatoes, spinach, almonds, walnuts, turmeric root,.. I'm not sure they are a whole lot of help but I am not about to stop just in case  . I feel that quitting caffeine and meat and dairy has helped me the most & of course, quitting smoking as well. Otherwise, every couple of days or so, I drink some vodka with plain Perrier water or just stay in bed with many pillows under my knees for a few days at a time.
Martha, I went to an amazing All-you-Can-Eat buffet in Ontario with my family. It is called The Mandarine but is not only Asian cuisine. They have everything under the sun there and even with my very restrictive diet, I found plenty of good stuff to eat. My mom was totally grossed out by my choices but it was funny to watch her face when I came back to the table elated to have found seaweed salad LOL
Sandy, I like the idea of calling cards. If I had anything that could be called a life, I'd do it too.
So I'll say Goodnight and wish you all an easy Wednesday♥️

That's a great price per 100 Sandy. Makes it hardly worth the effort of making your own and if they look nicer too it's a good deal.

Got my x-ray results. Some curvature of the spine and arthritis in the lumbar spine and hips. Not really a surprise to me. Still waiting for an appointment with the specialist about what my GP thinks is a disc problem. Heaven knows how long it will be before I hear from them.

My family often laugh at some of the weird mixtures I put on my plate too Elaine. I tend to choose foods I like that don't necessarily go together as a norm but I don't care.

Nothing exciting going on here. The recycling is out waiting to be collected. Bedding is outdoors hopefully drying since no rain is forecast today after yesterday's downpours. Washed the dishes and done a few other small jobs. Not planning on doing anything major today.

Lucky you found your password book like that Becka.  That's why I keep everything in a Filofax.  Where I go, that goes, so all notes etc. are in one place.

I have to also like to have mix and matches of food on my plate.  Which is why, I think, I love cold food so much.  You can shove all sorts on a cold plate of food.

Yeah, if the price were any dearer for the calling cards I wouldn't do it.  But they are just fun to have.  A little eccentricity of mine I suppose.

Fingers crossed the medical profession can sort you out to the point where you aren't in so much discomfort Wendy.  I doubt they will ever be able to fix that sort of thing totally though.

I wore my pocket out today with the dog's poo bags in it and already had one woman stop me and say what a great idea it is.

I went to the sewing shop with Aimee yesterday and bugger me but they weren't closed.  I never thought that a shop in the centre of a town would still be closing Wednesdays.  So at Aimee's suggestion we got back in the car and went a further 20 minutes over to Poole to the Hobbie Craft Centre.

We spent ages in there looking around.  Seemingly it's one of Aimee's favourite shops.  She bought herself an emboidery, cross stitch, kit which when finished she will frame. I managed to get a variety of cottons and tape and saw some lovely material that would make a great overskirt, but I wasn't going to pay their price for it.  So we have planned to go to the sewing shop in Christchurch again another day where they have a far bigger choice of materials.
