Hope the move went smooth for Sarah & the girls Sandy Smile
How nice of Beverly to get you all that material. Not sure on the colour though lol. I don't wear green either but love the green outdoors.

Geru ... yikes don't envy you with all that noise from the work they are doing. Might have to invest in some ear plugs or earphone so you can sit back and listen to music in peace.

I went and had a hair cut too Wendy Smile mine only cost me $15 at a local salon and the ladies there do a fantastic job.

Storms are on their way here ... a huge cold front with 120km wind and thunderstorms expected as well. Just had a road weather alert out so this girl is staying home today. Got plenty of food, coffee, snacks etc and if the power does go out, my gas stove will still work lol.
Charging my phone & kindle at the moment.

Ok time to bring the bin in and then have a quick shower ...

My hair turned out fine Geru. My sister knows how I like it by now. lol That's a great price on yours Martha. I hope the storm doesn't cause any damage and your power stays on. Sunny again here with a forecast of 24C. I can live with that quite nicely. It's way too hot in some areas of the country.

I'd be getting earplugs too with those roofers. The workmen doing the drop down kerbs and the builders behind drove me nuts so right above me would drive me out of the house I think.

I've got laundry out and I'm going to comb the cat next. She's not very happy with this hot weather. Not sure how I'll spend the rest of the day yet. After two days of cleaning and going out I'm feeling rater lazy.

@Geru I am now in the process of investigating as much as I can regarding what we have been being taught for the last 100 years or so as fact but is unproven theory, yet we believe 100% of what we are being told simply because we assume scientists are not only more intelligent than us and more educated than us.  What we don't take into consideration is ulteria motives of governments, military and NASA.

I started a short while ago with 4 questions.

1)  Why in the 1950s did all countries make a solid pact to work together in Antartica, and put it out of bounds to everyone else under threat of arrest and even risk of being shot.  No one is allowed passed the 60th parallel without special permission.

2)  Why did they suddenly decide to send men into space at the same time as putting research and military bases on Antartica.  With Russian and America, along with other countries footing the bill.

The so called space race and antartica project both started at the very same time in the 50s.  What did they find in Antartica to cause them to spend trillions on going up into space and digging down miles into the earth in Antartica at the same time.

3)  Why have they now said that to pass a certain point in space is impossible for man due to a massive radiation belt, yet they tell us that man landed on the moon, and have shown us others on so called space stations and space walks that are passed that radiation belt.

4)  Why do NASA not have a genuine photo of Earth from space.  They admit that all images they show us are simply composits of what the Earth "would" look like from space.

Did they originally go into space, found what they were looking for, then in order to continue to filter money through NASA for other secret projects start faking such things as the Moon landing and space stations etc.?

You wouldn't believe the lies and fakery that I am finding out and how many more questions those 4 questions bring up.  100s of hours of film and information has gone missing from NASA which is now showing up bit by bit on the web showing how they faked (out takes if you like) the live news reports from the space stations of the astronaughts.

I think we now really ought to start questioning everything.  Not just what we read but also what we see in our news reports.  If film makers can make special effects so can NASA.

C.E.R.N are working on quantum physics, and call me daft, but I honestly believe they are working on eventually opening a rift between dimensions.  Now one has not only ask why but also, what the hell will they let loose on this planet if they do.

There is a lot more I could say about this but honestly it would fill reams of post so I will stop there.

I will say this though.  People need to start reading and watching what some of the so called crazies have to say and make ones own mind up, because many of them are not so crazy after all.

Thanks Martha,  I think it did go well.

I don't blame you for staying in.  Let's hope your electricity doesn't go off.

I have simply gone outside with Louie this morning down the bottom of the garden where it's thick shade under the trees.  I also cancelled my Doc's appointment for tomorrow as I'm not going all that way by bus in this stupid hot weather.

I ordered myself some T shirts yesterday from Amazon, clicked standard delivery, yet they turned up today.  Very pleased with that sort of delivery.  I was desperate for T shirts.  The ones I have been wearing up to now are so old and are looking decidedly ragged so I can now throw them away.

I must remember to go up the top of the road this evening when the sun has gone down and get some money out of the cash machine.  I'm in doors without a single penny in cash on me.

Today it's gonna be listening to documentaries and some dress making me thinks.

Happy Wednesday to everyone. Stopping in to say hello and hope you all are doing well.
Just ate some delicious watermelon; sometimes I think I could eat the whole thing. Laughing Laughing
Our son is going to come for a visit next week. He teaches high school English, Speech & Debate, Heads the Student Council and teaches computer classes. He retired from the Marines, has his Masters in English and loves what he's doing.
Lots to do before he comes.
Have a great week, and come visit me on my community.

Just dropping in , the roofers have taken over my life .....since 6;45 Am   , they will stop soon , it gets to hot . No earplugs will help , sorry , it"s much much to loud  , they are having lunch , not sure if they will be back  ,24c now, rising to 27 that feels like 30c , /they quit  around 2 pm yesterday .

Sandy: those are great questions to go in to , Antarctica is mostly about everyone wanting a slice of the colourful  pie they are hoping to find .  Interesting I must say .

My main interest is C.E.R.N. but ...... far fetched  it may be ,  a rift between dimensiona ? Far out ........heavy duty stuff ......,  but hope it's all good .... lol
I do believe all the research anywhere is sure making lots of jobs .... lol

Hello Dazzal, enjoy your sons visit ....how nice .

Gosh, I haven't had a watermelon for a very long time.  I never think to buy one.   I hope you have a wonderful time with your Son Dazzal.

Hopefully the roofers will make it a quick job, so you don't have to put up with a lot of noise for long Geru.

I've had a visit from Aimee today for a few hours, and as she left Charlie turned up for a usual cuppa between jobs.  He has been working on a flat on the top floor in this block which has just become vacant.  In between putting in new fire doors over in another of their complexes.

I've almost got a new pair of 1700s style pockets finished.  I cheated and used the sewing machine for the bias binding instead of hand sewing.  I'm keen on getting stuck into making the skirt so decided to finish off the pockets quickly.  I'm sure if the sewing machine had been invented in the 1700s they would have also used one, lol.

Today was a lot cooler than it has been, although for some reason it's still been hot indoors.  Charlie, love his heart, dropped me in a table top fan yesterday to use through this hot weather.  He's really good, as he doesn't have to do all he does for me.

Well, that's been my day today.  Not a lot going on but it's gone very quickly.  Bed time now for me.

@Geru   @Zandranna

You certainly have a lot of bloggers on this board, Sandy. I'm not that detail oriented. lol  Thank you concerning my son. He has developed into a fine man. I hope your roof is completed soon, so you have some PEACE and QUIET, Geru.

Sandy, I could pig out on watermelon all year round if it was available. The watermelon has been so sweet and red. I think I could eat a whole watermelon by myself. It's my favorite fruit besides tangerines. I like Kiku apples. Just became familiar with that type of apple; very sweet and crisp.

We're going to the fair this evening. There's a lady that makes great INDIAN NAVAJO TACOS. Also, want to see the rodeo if I can talk my husband into it.

Have a great evening/day.

I love watermelon in hot weather. I chop it and put it in the fridge so I can just grab a piece when I feel like. Lovely when you're hot and thirsty. I love honeydew melons too.

We finally got some light rain during the night. All the thunderstorms and downpours missed us but it's better than nothing. A stronger breeze today too so it feels slightly cooler. I never thought I'd be happy to see rain.

I've done a few chores and I'm about to renew my car breakdown policy and then the day is mine to fritter away.

I bet they'd have loved a sewing machine Sandy. lol

I'm more or less just an Apples and Bananas person when it comes to fruit with the very occasional odd bit of other fruit thrown in.  Fruit in this country isn't that tasty anymore.  Not as it was when I was young.  I think it's because we are so limited as to what countries we are allowed to buy it from nowadays.

Same here with the weather being cooler Wendy.  No rain as yet but there is a good wind out there and temps have dropped dramatically.  Oh so much more comfortable.

Today I'm testing out making a 1700s indoor cap.  Once again I'm doing it with the machine as it's only a trial on a tatty old bit of white sheeting to see how it would turn out if I ever get around to making an authentic outfit.  I've checked up and they were always white and made of linen.  Out door caps would have been more colourful.

Our weather is still hot as heck , humid too, not to my liking , no rain in sight ..  Don't really care for watermelon , have not eaten any for years , but don't hate it either , great to have around when there is a bunch of kids in the summer . I stick to strawberries, apples, ginger , blueberries . I buy bananas when I have to swallow pills ... lol , helps me get the pills down better .

Sandy;  They are not even finished with removing the old roof material , but by Tuesday they are delivering the  new materials to be put on  , God only knows when they will be all finished ,

Good luck with making the indoor cap , You should go in to making theatrical costumes Sandy , you might have fun doing it all , and make money

Ok, got to get off the chair , see you later , have an nice day

We had a brief thunderstorm at about 5pm yesterday and then a short hailstorm an hour later. Overnight and this morning we have had proper rain and big puddles. Much cooler with a max of 20C forecast.

Theatrical costumes might be fun to make but the deadlines would add a lot of pressure. Not really something you can dabble in in your spare time I wouldn't have thought. Then again I can't sew so ignore me. lol

Hot 30c by this afternoon   and humidity is high , no rain in sight , not good .  We are going to cool down by the looks of it ,  slowly.. but sure .

Whisper: yup , you are likely right , theatrical  clothes making has time limits, never thought of that , and when you are retired ... who needs that ?? lol
Glad your weather has cooled down, and that the rain storm has refreshed things for you , now send it over here

Have a great Sunday

Yeah, making theatirical costumes would be like going back out to work me thinks.  The cap turned out well.  Although because it's made from an old, thin, well worn sheet it's not overly brilliant, but I do know that with good linen material it will turn out a lot better.

Peeing down today, which has been wonderful as it's a lot cooler.

I have done absolutely nothing except lounge around.  I did watch the film The Book of Eli though.  I've had it for ages and have never got around to watching it.  Good film.

I'm now going to spend the rest of the evening watching all the rubbish I have recorded over the weeks.

Hi Susan.  Hope you had a good time.

The weather is absolutely perfect today.  Sunny but not at all too hot.  Just as I like it.  I hope it stays like this for the rest of the summer. But I"m not holding my breath on that one.

I made another cap yesterday, this time with a couple of scraps of decent material I had laying around.  It turned out great.  Unfortunately it's more the style of the late 1700s going into the 1800s regency time.  So that style I wont use for the final costume if I ever get around to making it.  But both caps were fun to figure out how to, and to actually make them.

Today I have been on my hands and knees getting up dog hair from the carpet that the hoover wont pick up.  It's unbelievable how much extra one can get up even after a good hoover.

I've done some washing.  Large items are hung up to dry and the smaller items are at this moment running around being tumble dried.

I've also put in a shopping list for delivery this evening.

I'm now sitting here thinking about filling up a bucket with soapy water to wash the kichen and bathroom floors with.  After I've done that then the rest of the day is my play time.

I can't believe it,    Skype is getting nosier and nosier  . How old are you it says and it says Microsoft has requirements based on where you live .  What ?   You mean, if I was 12 years old in England  for instance , that would be OK< but If I was 12 years old in Brazil , this would not be OK with Microsoft ?  that's only the first page , wonder what else they want to know .  So far , Skype can go fly a kite .

I had the good old version installed for years, they just up and cancelled it , and gave me the new version ,  finally got the sound working, now they want to know all this stuff, yuk ,  headbang
Ps, just found out its just your birthday they want to know , no more so far . But I tell you, I can't figure out the new version yet , might cancel it .

Sandy:  nice you got the cap made of better material now , you are so  daring . The book of Eli , is that a Net Flix ?  and is about religion ?

Skype is a pain in the rear.  Just don't use it anymore at all.

The Book of Eli, as far as I know is only on DVD at the moment.  Neither Netflix or Amazon Prime are showing it.

Synopsis:-

Quote :
Thirty years after war turned the world into a wasteland, a lone warrior named Eli (Denzel Washington) marches across the ruined landscape, carrying hope for humanity's redemption. Only one other man (Gary Oldman) understands the power of what Eli carries, and he is determined to take it for himself. Though Eli prefers peace, he will risk death to protect his precious cargo, for he must fulfill his destiny to help restore mankind.

It's not usually my type of film which is why I have put off watching it, even though the family had told me it was worth watching.  And I certainly did find it a pretty good film once I gave in and did watch it.

I thought it was a good movie and I absolutely LOVE Denzel. There's hardly anything he can't play in role. He's so versatile. I thought Tom Hanks was my favorite, but Denzel is #1.

Oh yes I agree Dazzal; Denzel is brilliant and I too enjoyed watching The Book of Eli.

We're having nasty cold fronts coming through here with hail, thunderstorms and very strong winds.
Did all my housework, gardening & shopping yesterday so I can just hibernate indoors today lol.

Geru I hardly use Skype these days and find WhatsApp so much easier and better to use. Only probem I find with whatsapp is that it's harder to also use on your computer. You have to scan the code on the computer screen to use whatsapp on the computer. That can be a bit tricky at times.
But other then that I find it a brilliant app to use; for just sending a text but also lots better for video calling.

I've never thought to put the whatapp on my actual laptop.  I just have it on my phone.  Not even sure if I have it on my ipad.  I must look at both those options later.

Early yesterday morning I was caught out by meeting a lady, Mary, who has put in for one of these flats, and is now waiting and hoping one comes up quickly for her.  I invited her in for a chat about the site etc.  But of course my flat was littered with all my sewing stuff, including the sewing machine being out.  No washing up done, bed unmade, washing hanging up and so on.

After she had gone I thought, shit, that's wasn't at all a good impression, so I decided I'm going to have to start making sure all is put away after I have finished with it for the day/evening before I go to bed, and make sure my place in future is presentable for any eventuality day or night.   So without hesitation I set to and more or less spring cleaned the place.

Charlie popped in for a usual cup of tea and the first thing he said was, "Wow! there is nothing around" and had a chuckle.  But then added, I don't know why you did it because your place always looks so nice and homely.  I think he just meant messy, lol.

Mary is excited about getting over here.  She said that seeing all my sewing stuff has put her in the mood for sewing again after many years.  As soon as she gets a place she is going to let me know.  She seems a really lovely women, and I can't wait to get to know her.  She knows the place as she visits a really old lady over here that has altzhemers, and comes over to take her out for walks.

Margaret along at number 5 has turned out to be a bit of a strange one and that bloody dog of hers is driving many people nuts.  Jackie, the dog next door is really nervous of it.  Even though Louie is a sod with Jackie, as he is with all dogs, Jackie just ignores him because she knows he isn't allowed near her, so she just carries on laying wherever she is in the corridor as we pass by.

Actually this has turned out to be a really nice block.  I like it better than William Court which I was in before.  The residents seem a lot more chatty.  Do you know I've already been here exactly one year.  It's flown by.

It's now 7.30am and I am about to take Louie down on the beach for a play.

We have a nice day today , cooled down a couple of degrees and makes all the difference  , and a bit of a breeze now and then too.   A stretch of 3-4 days break is forecast  with the heat , so looking forward to this .
The roofers are still at it , hope they finish up by Friday ,  the torching fumes come in to our stove vents and bathroom vents and chokes you . I know they can't help it , but with the heat and all .... it's been a night mare for me ,  you can't open windows either, cause it comes in there , the noise is terrible , I am on the top floor

what's 'App ? My cousin talks about this  , must go to the Apple store and see how this works with my desktop MAC .
Sandy: I think you live in a really neat place , wish they had something like this here .good luck with your new friend when she gets a place .

looked in to the apps, they only have chat whats apps so far for MAC  desktops , now if I had one of those smart phones , things would be different , but why spend the money . I tried , but then the apps come with a cleaner that come with  the download, no thanks , they are a pain in the neck, cause they want you to buy them , they bug and bug you, tell you horror stories about the mess your computer is in ........ and viruses attach themselves to this cleaner, I have been there before, no thanks .

I hate the new Skype too but WhatsApp didn't do video calls on my desktop last time I checked. It only did chats. May have changed now though.

I'm just popping in to say a quick good morning. Off to the doc's for an injection soon. The weather is much cooler . A little light rain overnight but dry this morning with a few sunny spells.

I wouldn't bother about the good impression Sandy. Anybody who's fussy about a bit of clutter would be a pain as a friend. lol Sounds like she was more interested in the sewing than whether it was making a mess.
