Ummmm!  I've just downloaded the app onto my mac laptop and I did have to link it with the app on my phone.  It does look as if one has to have the app on a smart phone, be it mac or android first.  Although it didn't come with any cleaning download.  Nothing came with it, just the simple app.  But one can also get the app on a windows 8 or higher laptop as well.

Must check that for video calls in a tick.

Yeah, Charlies says I am far too fussy and that my place always looks nice and clean.  He says what do I expect when I'm always busy doing something with my hands ao bound to always have something around.  I think he finds me and my hobbies amusing.

Yesterday I made a curtain for my kichen door.  Charlie said he would put a folding door up there but I've opted for a curtain because Louie hates closed doors and needs to easily get into the bathroom to get to his pee mat which I keep in the shower.  I made it out of a dark red second hand sheet.  It looks good.

Today I have no idea what I am going to do.  I didn't wake up until 9am so I am still sitting here with my first cuppa of the morning and just about to have another one.

Jessie came along late last night to pick up the business cards I had made for her that had been delivered earlier in the day.  She has already done 3 people's nails and has 2 more booked over the next couple of days.  It looks like this little business of hers is taking off really quickly.  She stayed for a little while and we had a nice chat.

Aimee, I think, has given up on her "Handy Lady" business, but then she doesn't have the confidence that Jess has for going into strangers homes.  She seems to prefer working for someone else.  She seems to like her new job though.

Sarah?  I haven't heard from her, but then I don't expect to unless she wants something.  But then when she does she is in for a shock because the answer will be no.  I'm fed up with her ignoring me for months on end and then ringing me up when she wants something.

I've been in this flat exactly a year as was yesterday and in all that time she has only invited me to hers twice.  Once over Christmas and once on Mothers day last.  She has actually visited me proper and put her arse on a seat once in that time as well.   I'm now waiting to see just how long it will be before I get to see her new home which they moved into last week.  I love her to pieces but quite honestly she is a very self centred human being.  It's very hurtful the way she treats me.  But hey ho, that's life.

I'm really hoping that Mary and I can be friends when she moves in.  I never get bored but I do get lonely.  It would be nice to have someone to say, go to the pictures with occasionally or maybe even just to the top of the road for lunch.

Going to church for friendship turned out to be a big faliure.  They are lovely friendly and inviting people, but churchy things and large gatherings and arranging churchy things seem to be their life. That simply isn't me.

I've got a couple of things booked and paid for with Aimee for later on in the year.  One of which is seeing The Importance of Being Ernest on stage in October.  Aimee managed to get us really good seats for that one.  Can't remember the other thing she has planned though.

I should wash the kitchen and bathroom floors today but it's such a bloody chore.  Because we have no real storage for anything I can't have a mop to whip over them.  Instead it's a hands and knees job with a bucket and floor cloth.  Has to be done though.

Then of course there is the microwave.  A couple of days ago I blew up an egg in it and have put off cleaning all that out as I haven't needed to use it since.  That also should be done today as well.

Just a quick drop in for now , really need to get some things done today . It has cooled down 18c , overcast making it much cooler , love it . I love the sun , but not over 25c  or humidity ..

Such a nice write up Sandy .    I am like you , I am not much for to much Churchy things planning and getting ready , one has to be right in there all the time  , live and breath it , it's just to much . I guess if you were brought up that way, had done it all your life you would be used to it .

Enjoy your play when the time comes . Got a chuckle out of the Microwave story .... lol, oh boy , good luck.  I got rid of mine , did you know it restructures your food ?  Food looses some of it's values to you. I now just use a toaster oven to reheat ..takes a bit longer , but ......
Happy to hear Jessie's Business is taking off so good .

See you later folks

That Mary sounds like a lovely person so fingers crossed she gets her place soon and you have a nice friend near by Sandy Smile

I've got Whats App on my win10 laptop and it's brilliant for sending messages but so far there is no video calling with the web app yet. I did read that they might be bringing that in with the next update.

Sandy my place gets a bit like that when I'm in the middle of doing stuff. Usually I try keep it tidy though but if someone comes when it's not tidy ... tough titties lol.

I can't stand the whole churchy stuff as you know Sandy so I wouldn't even consider going.

Geru they have said that about the microwave but I just ignore it now ... don't use it much at all myself and prefer the oven or the air fryer. The thing is that most food we buy in the supermarket has not much goodness left in it either. Our food has been tempered with way too much and health wise there is not much left of the so called "fresh" produce.
I buy mine from the local farmers market so that I know I get fresh and non sprayed food.

Sandy my Natasja is like that too and does the same thing like Sarah. She is very private and does not like talking about her own private life much either.
I used to chalk it down to her having such a busy work life but since she changed jobs that no longer applies really.

The best thing I did was saying NO more often to my lot Smile The other 2 are great and check in regularly.

I barely use my microwave either.   I use it for poaching eggs and maybe heating up a tin of beans or soup, and that's it really.   I don't eat microwave meals or anything.

As you know, I really originally joined the church to meet people.  Although having said that, I do enjoy going to church occasionally for the service itself.  I nip between 3 different ones, depending on how I feel.  All three are so different from each other.

1) Airy fairy, with lots of hand waving and even the occasional person dancing wierd fairy type dancing, lol.  They have tuneless modern songs written by the members.  Hate the singing but love the Bible study there.

2) Church service on site here.  Normal hymn singing which I love.  Not a bad preaching.  But then they have a short time where members themselves can say prayers out loud.  And I find that so boring as to me praying should be personal, private and quite time.

3)  The local Baptist Church.  This is my favourite really.  Normal hymns, But boring preaching.  It's more preaching than Bible Study.  I also enjoy having the tea and biscuits after as they are really nice people.  But once again it's all church chat.

I'm loving studying the Bible though.  At some point I study every day.  The history in it is unbelievable.  And of course that also leads me to documentory videos to watch, to see what can be proved or not.  And I also listen to my favourite on line pastors when they post a video.

At the moment I am investigating The Watchers, Nephillim and Giants.  It's all fascinating stuff.

As for my Sarah.  I've accepted it now Martha.

Yeah,  I'm really looking forward to Mary moving in.  She is so chatty, and like me hops from one subject to another.  I bet she's good fun.  Fingers crossed we each turn out to be just what each of us is looking for in a friend.

So far for the last three days I have been putting all my stuff away before bed each night, and even making sure there are no crocks waiting to be washed up.  All except my cup that I have my last cup of tea in.  I don't know how long I will keep this up for though, lol.

And it's bed time for me now.

Look what the cat dragged in.

Morning all. Back to lovely sunshine here this morning. About 23C which is perfect for me. Nothing interesting happening which is pretty normal. I'm glad to read I'm not the only one with a self absorbed daughter. She does visit fairly regularly but only when she's going somewhere else up here and needs a free hotel.

Not long winded you little shite, just have a lot to tell. tongue

It's hot here too.  I had to nip to the chemist this morning and dropped in on a couple of charity shops.  I was sweating by the time I got back and gasping for a cup of tea.

I've already done some washing and hung it up, and next I'm going to attempt to finish off making the skirt I started.

I visited our Beverley yesterday and she gave me a load more material.  Some of it I don't think I can use but will have a think about how I can use it and then give back what I don't think I can.  She can put it back in the shop then.

I do now have a nice white cotton sheet that I can make a shift out of.  I've been waiting for a white sheet.  Then I also now have a pale yellow sheet which will do nicely for an underskirt.

I was chatting to a woman in one of the charity shops who was saying that she would love to start wearing hats but hasn't the guts to do so.  I told her that now was the best time to start, because in the hot summer people think nothing of seeing hats on people's heads, and she can get used to wearing them before the autumn comes.  I of course had one of my hats on my head.  Heck I might even start a trend around the village.  What do ya think? lol.

i do, and the only comment i get is that i like your hat....

i don't wear them after the summer though, i have to wear a hood, because my head gets cold very easily and all that kind of stuff...but

i do hope you start the trend.....

I have winter hats too Susan.  Hoods are too easily blown off in our high winds.

Last year I bought a real, beautiful parasole Guru.  I used it when I went to the New Forest the other week with my girls.  I was so grateful for it too.  Especially when they wanted to sit outside at the tables in the bright hot sunshine.

I've been looking around the web to get ideas on how to tart up hats.  I'm also going to put some pegs/hooks up on my bedroom wall to hang my hats on as I have an idea it wont be long before I might have a nice collection.  I'm really getting into this hat fun and as this place is so small I don't have anyway of storing them.  So putting them on the wall might work.

not if they have string....

but i hear you....the reason why i won't wear a hat in the winter is it doesn't really cover my ears....and my face, and all that..

tart up hats, sorry never heard that term before....

lol.....i need a place liek that too to put my hats, as well as other things...but oh well....

Good evening everyone. It's almost 10:00pm here on Saturday night.
I finally have my computer in a workable state. Windows 10 is a bit hard to get used to. It's not as annoying as expected though. I bought this computer a little over a week ago & have been customizing it for my taste ever since. I still want to get a good monitor and a mic for it and a rail for my old hard drive so that I can retrieve that data.
Funny, I have quite a few hats but rarely wear them. 2 years ago I bought an Australian genuine pigskin 'outback' hat but have never worn it. I'll probably sell it. Every time I think to wear it I can't get the thought of suffering pigs out of my head and so I take it off. I also have several caps and toques. They rarely get pulled out of the box I keep them in LOL
I've been picking lots of blackberries and making stuff for Roomie. He likes pies and muffin mostly. I tried making some jelly without pectin but it didn't set. I'm will buy some pectin tomorrow and more jars, to give it another shot.
It's about time to settle in and stream a show I think. I'll check out Castle Rock, recommended by Linette.
Good night everyone♥️

I wear hats in winter when it's windy simply because I get bad earache if I don't. I don't like hoods because of the restricted vision they cause. They're always miles too big for my head. lol

Another hot day coming up. About 25C and sunny. I've got jeans and t-shirts drying nicely outdoors.

Sandy maybe you can not only start a local trend but make a few hats to sell.

You know that's not a bad idea Wendy.  If I can drum up some interest in the wearing of hats I could possible give that a go.  I'm living in a perfect place to start that up.  And once I got into doing them quickly I could keep them cheap but at the same time make a few pennies.

Today I'm testing out turning a cheap bandana into something unusual but a bit more interesting to stick on the head than simply tying it around like a scarf.  I've just created a paper pattern and am about to cut it all out.  If it turns out all right, I will parade around the site with it on and see if I get any interest in that too.

As for plain straw hats I think I can track down a couple of ladies that make them and sell them cheaply at fetes and fairs.  If I bought them in bulk I could probably get them for a song.

I'll think on that one.

I wouldn't be able to wear pig skin either Elaine or any other animal for that matter.  Although the skins nowadays come from animals that have been slaughtered for our food anyway.  But I honestly wouldn't want to do it.

Bloody hot here too. Once again Louie has to wait until this evening to get a decent walk.

We have another hot day coming up , don't like that one bit . I best get that chicken baked now .

Lost my first post, so making this one quick .
Wore a hat yesterday, it blew off at the first gust of wind .... lol , I have tightened the inside string now , but I bet it will be hotter now .

Elaine : So good to hear from you, I missed you in here .Congrats on the new computer and all your smarts on setting it all up , windows 10 and all .
Good luck with that blackberry jelly , yummy yummy .   Loved your hat story .  Pig skin hat ?  well, I would not want to wear one either . I got a winter hat , that looks like one of those Russian Fur caps , but it's fake fur, but looks really good , black with silver speckles at the tips .

Whisper: I don't care for hoods either , they do restrict the vision some  I find .

Sandy : hope you find some interest in the hat adventure idea , might be fun for you .  enjoy the walk with Louie when it cools down later .

Susan:  your choice , your hoody , enjoy wearing it .

See you later folks

when i was a kid, sometimes i'd put on a sheepskin hat that my grandfather brought back from ukraine....he went over in 61 it was the first time he was allowed to go back....he left in 27, i think it was, they opened up the borders, we don't have them anymore but they weren't really a hat, they were a peice of material folded in half...it was comfortable..

it wasn't from his region, but here alot of them were known as the men with sheepskin coats....because they raised sheep in the mountain area of the country...so

i never wore it to the beach where it was supposed to, but still

My Gran and all my old Aunts all had fox furs to wear around their neck. They were quite gross as they were the whole fur with heads and tails still on.  But it was the fashion in those days to own a fox stole.  I remember when we all visited Gran and all the fox furs were hung up on the coat stand.  Never thought anything of it in those days.

I've been messing about with an old facebook page to change it and then reactivate it.  Jeez, it's taken me forever.  They have changed the settings so much that I can't find any of what I want.  Why do they have to make things difficult.

Weather is hot and humid , lots of fires burning again , in California, BC, Ontario , scary stuff .

Fox fur stoles ? oh yes, My Grandma sported one of those too, the Taxidermist's must have been kept busy in those days  , what a shame , all just for looks .
We all know. man kind has always relied on Animals for our survival  from the very beginning , but for sports and looks only , I am against that .

Long weekend here , many are out boating and fishing I think . To hot for me out there until later on .
Got to answer some emails , make a call, make a meat loaf .

have a great day everyone

♫♫♫ There's a kind of heat...all over the world tonight  ♫♫♫ It is stikin hot everywhere isn't it?   All 90+ degree here all the time.  Last week it cooled off and it was wonderful, this week back to hot hot hot.

My sister-in-law whom I spoke about being newly diagnosed as bipolar, is doing really well  We all went to the movies last night and out to dinner.  We saw Mama-Mia here we go again.    It was way different than what I thought it was going to be about.  But wow, that Cher can still belt it out and there is a young lady who plays the mother as a young girl and can she sing and dance.

I got all the paint out of my rug and its a distant memory now.. We had the gran-dogs all week as my daughter and her family went to California to visit her husbands brother.  They all had a good time. I was not sad to see the dogs go and I was happy to see my grandkids off the plane!! LOL

It is my oldest granddaughter's birthday well yesterday, 10 yrs old.my goodness, her party is on Saturday.   We locked the dogs in our big master bathroom when we have to leave and they clawed or chewed  the bottom of the door off there was fibers of wood pieces of wood everywhere.   I think we are going to place a kick plate over it so they cannot do that again. We have no other place to coral them when we have to be gone.  We were gone 5 hours yesterday.  The oldest Shitz Shu is almost 15 yrs old, and they 2nd one is about 2.   Otherwise pretty well behaved dogs.

We have had the kids a lot this summer and I am kinda ready for them to go back to school.  LOL  meany grammy....It's just no time to myself, between 3 kids, and housekeeping and aquatic exercise class, and my elderly mother..   I am just one of those people who need a break once in a while.

Sandy have you been searching the "Dark Web?"  LOL All those questions about Antarctica and the moon landing. There certainly is a lot of food for thought.
Geru, I hope your roofers are done soon.  That is wild and of course they start early to avoid the heat.
Hats??  I love hats, I wish I had the nerve to wear them.  A lot of woman do, not sure I look ok in them But there are some cute ones...I think you could be a trend setter!!!

Getting ready to storm here..more rain.
I have taken up a new hobby, painting pourings..ring pours..so cool. I am not good yet or even mediorcre but it sure is fun.

You all take care!!
Tara

Oh I've seen this sink strainer painting ways on FB Tara and it looks amazing! Good luck with that. Smile

Now lookie who popped his head in the door! Hiya Dougie .. I see you still like to stirr the pot Laughing

Elaine good going with your "new" computer. Always a task and a half to find programs etc that will go with win10. I'm lucky as I can ask my son if I get stuck.

Sandy you do look great wearing hats and can pull it off nicely. I do have a straw hat for our hot summers; when I go for beach walks, but they give me headaches. Too much heat gets trapped underneath and causes for this pressure to build.
I used to wear beanies in Holland in winter time tongue

Geru I saw it on the news here about all those fires. Horrible to see and feel for all those people.

Southern parts of Europe have been sweltering too and I'm glad my brothers are home safe again. Would be horrible to be stuck in a fire zone. Both of them drove to Italy.

Nothing wrong with a good beanie for keeping the cold out of your ears Martha. I still wear them and don't care if I look silly. Better that than earache.

Good luck with the bandana idea Sandy. Making and selling hats would be less commitment than theatre costumes since you could just do as many as you want when you feel like it. If you can get a job lot of straw hats you could have fun tarting them up in all sorts of ways. Making a few extra pennies while having fun is a bonus.

It's cooler here this morning. About 20C and slightly foggy of all things.

still hot around here , no rain in sight , and we really need it .

Tara: I went to see Mama Mia when visiting my sister in Ontario, the play was great , loved the Music , but Cher was not in it .... lol  , she sure does know how to belt out a song OK, and has a this great figure too ... lol . Happy to hear your sister in law is doing well  , and that all the paint came out of the new rugs .   Yup, that dog story sounds familiar , my daughter had to give her dog away , as every day when she came home from work, something else was chewed to rats .... lol , they don't like being left at home, want to go with you .... lol .  Watch out , if you put the kick plate on , they might jump up and tear the curtains down ( if there are any )
You are so fortunate to have a hobby room Tara, were you can play and just shut the door and leave it , that paint through a strainer or colander  looks fantastic , all you need is room , and the right colour mix . Good luck with it .     And yes, you do need a  rest after the dog sitting and everything else , put up your feet !!!    Ps.  The roof is finished , two weeks of hell  for me , this week they are doing the flashing it says . So good to hear from you .    Have fun with the kids at the Birthday party !!!

Martha: I see you find hats hot too, good to hear that , thought I was the only one . I can see wearing one thought if sitting in the hot sun for any length of time ,

Whisper; glad it has cooled down some for you .
