I hope you enjoyed your dinner. I presume it was last night? Shame about the lady though.

I hope you enjoyed your day of rest Kerri. You probably deserved it.

I'm up fairly early this morning as I was in bed by midnight last night, but have nothing planned for the day. I will obviously be doing a bit of sewing, a bit of housework and then anything else that I fancy to keep me busy.

I'm just sort of passing the days as pleasantly as I can until the weather gets a little warmer. It's far to cold to leave the house for fun. I can't wait to do a few timed runs out on the scooter, and test how long it takes me to get to various places, but there would be no fun forcing a run out in this bitter cold.

Brrrr that's definitely cold Kerri. Enjoy your hibernation day.

It's chilly here but above freezing. Very foggy this morning though which I always find a bit spooky.

The bin men have just been to empty the wheely so I need to drag that back in. I've washed bedding and put fresh on (with help from the cat) and done a few other bits and bobs. I'm not planning anything too strenuous today.

My brother is chomping at the bit to get out on his scooter with his camera Sandy but like you he's waiting for it to warm up a bit. Not much fun when you're freezing to death.

Sorry to hear about your husband Kerri. Had a giggle about the champagne Smile

I spoke to soon ... brother went to his GP and was told he did have Thrombosis in his right leg. The hospital never told him and send him home! Not only that but according to the notes his GP got; he also has infarction in his right lung.
The next day I get a message from him to say his right leg was very swollen and sore. He's on medication already so this will take some time.

Natasja & Andy are on the ball. Just moved into their rental in Canberra and Andy starts work on Monday already! Natasja has 2 job interviews this week too.

We're having a nice summer so far with not many super hot days. This can easily change though lol as last year it got hot in February.

That's terrible Martha. What were they thinking sending him home without telling him anything?

Wow that was quick. Good for Andy and good luck to Natasja with the interviews. On the ball is an understatement. That's pretty impressive.

I'm off grocery shopping soon and have an appointment this afternoon but apart from that I'm taking it easy. I've got a nasty bug that's proving difficult to shake off.

It's my daughter's birthday today. She has to work but then this evening her and her partner are off to a lovely country house for the weekend.

Thank goodness I don't have to muck around with weelie bins. It's all done for us. The most I have to do is tie my bags up and put them in the bins outside the flats.

I feel for your brother Wendy he must be so frustrated about it, as am I. Hope your Daughter has a great birthday.

Still sending prayers for you Brother Martha. Poor bugger.

Fingers crossed for Nataja to get one of those jobs if she finds she likes them.

Jess and I went out for lunch again today and then on in to Christchurch proper mainly to the large book shop they have there along with dropping in the sewing shop to stock up on some white cotton.

Jolly cold it was though. I came back frozen to the bone.

I can't begin to think what can be wrong with the thread that you can't post a graphic.  Maybe when it goes to another page it will be ok.

Testing image

edited to say it's working ok for me. Are you definitely picking up the right address url of the image you tried to post?

Hi everyone.

It finally warmed up and it's funny
how warm it felt outside today after the bitter cold we experienced.
It's all relative, I suppose.

I got up at 5 AM and after showering,
ran some errands, grocery shopping,
my car needed gasoline, brought my husband some breakfast
to the TCU.
They have meals there, but he wanted something else
for breakfast.
I went and got my hair cut.
Rented a carpet cleaner and cleaned a few rooms in our apartment.

Then I brought my husband Chinese food
for a very late lunch and we chatted for a while.
Two of my granddaughters came over to
spend the night tonight.
They are watching the TV show Glee on Netflix.

Hope everyone has a lovely rest of the day!

Wow! Kerri, that sounded like a very busy day for you.

I did nothing much all day yesterday.  I had an hours chat along at her's with Margaret.  Did a bit of housework and from then on spent the day watching a series of documentaries about the lost tribes of Israel tracing them through very early historical data of stories, letters and writings on stone.

Obviously they have no idea where they are now because they are so very thinly scattered, and incorporated into every nation in the world, but in the beginning in seems that most of them were taken into what was Kurdistan which was a much larger area in those days.  It's extremely possible that many Kurds to this day are their decendants.  I still haven't finished watching the whole series so it's possible they have been able to trace some of them on further journeys.

Prior to watching that I watched a series on how the world was split in the days of Noah into different peoples through his 3 sons and their families thereby giving birth to Europe, Asia and Africa.

Japheth was given all of Europe including North America.  Shem had Asia, the East and down to, and including, the philippines and around through India.  Ham had Africa and around the whole world level with that, including Australia and South America.

It was interesting to learn how the argument of the land of Israel goes right back to that time.  Israel suposedly was part of what given to Shem, but when they first spread out Ham incorporated into his share of the world (the two portions bordered each other there) which is why God promised Moses and his people that He would give them back the promised land.

It was all fascinating stuff to watch.

I did my washing yesterday so that's out of the way, but I do need to wash the kitchen and bathroom floors.  Apart from that the day is my own.

Today is going to be a bit of sewing and I'm also thinking about starting a knitting project.  I have to look first to see if I have enough wool tucked away for it.

I've done a very quick whizz round with the cordless vac upstairs. Still not getting much sleep with the constant coughing but I do feel better now my chest isn't as tight and I can get some oxygen. It's wiped me out though so I just did the minimum. I couldn't stand all the cat fur in here so had to do a bit of a clean up.

Having lunch at our friend's later with my sister and niece. My sister is going to cut and colour my hair for me while we're there too. Hopefully she'll be bringing Spencer for me to play with.

I love all history Geru, and the further back they manage to go I find fascinating.  They are un-digging more and more sites all the time.

Sorry to hear you are feeling rotten Wendy.  I hope it all clears up soon.  Hopefully having your hair cut and coloured will make you feel even better.

Yesterday I played at making a new Home page just for fun.  Not that a portal page is really necessary but they can be fun to play with if one is bored.

I'm having a tidy around today and will also do a couple of small deep cleaning jobs before I make the day a play day again.

Louie needs a bit of a longer walk today as we didn't go far yesterday but as he is still in bed there is no hurry for that.  I've still not finished that blasted skirt because I do a tiny bit of it and then dump it on the table again for the next day.  I really would like to get that finished and move on to the next one.

Nice sunny day so far , 9c, grass is nice and green , and they are selling prim roses to plant believe it or not ... lol.

coloured my hair yesterday , so soon it's time to get it cut again .Having it short is easier , but needs more cutting to keep it tidy , can't pull it back now , but no more rollers what a relief .

Wendy: good to hear from you , sorry about your bad chest cold , but hopefully you are on your way of getting over it now . Just take it easy for a bit .

Sandy:  Homepage looking nice , and you will get to that skirt eventually ... , enjoy the walk with Louie today .

The trouble with the widget on the front page that shows a few lines of some post is that we can only choose one forum to show.  I've obviously chosen Coffee Break.  But I'm sure there is another way to "copy" posts into another forum.  If I can figure out how to do that then I can personally choose which posts to show on the front page by sending a copy to a new specific forum just for copies and then choose that forum to show on the front page.  However, I can't figure out how to copy posts.

I'm sure I will figure it out sooner or later.

I can't understand the problem you seem to be having with the graphics Geru.  Are you using a different browser?

I only have the waist band to put on the skirt now which I'm going to finish today.  I'm quite pleased with it.

I need to search through my material to see what I've got before I decide on my next project.  It will probably be just an apron me thinks.

My days are pretty boring for posting in here although not boring for me to actively live.  I'm enjoying myself as much as possible while we have this cold weather.

It's a bright day outside but still cold enough to keep me indoors except for when I have to leave the house.

Sunny morning here  bit cool, 4c .
Got my hair cut again yesterday , sure is getting short, but it will grow again , just takes getting used to ,

No , not using a different browser at all, it has to do with the layout of this thread I think . It's OK, I can manage to get it in here , not important .
