Weather damp and chilly brrrrr ,light drizzle  , 7c, more wind forecast , not Christmas weather at all .

You all sound very very busy .. Christmas cookies?   They are fun to make , all shapes and sizes ,and decorated too.  How about a Gingerbread man ?  Myself ... I love shortbread cookies , my Grandma was an expert at making them ... yummy yummy .
She also baked with yeast , huge  cookie sheets she used , but don't forget , they had wood stoves and places to raise the dough , and patients .... lol . From what I remember,  Christmas is a huge eating feast , they bake for days on end ahead of time , and also cook the most great smelling dishes .

Sandy: glad you are getting it all together now , pretty soon you can relax .
Kerri" enjoy baking the cookies with the kids
Martha: have  a great Christmas, and all the best to you .
Whisper; hope the weather is getting better for you

Hello To Tara, Elaine , have a great Christmas .

Still wet and miserable and barely coming light unfortunately.

I'm off to my daughter's early in the morning and won't be back online until probably Friday. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas whatever you're doing.

Hi everyone.

I took my granddaughters to a movie today.
"Aquaman" was full of action
and they loved it.
I would have chosen another movie
but it was about them, not me. Smile

Just relaxing tonight.

Hope everyone has a peaceful Christmas.
Best wishes to all of you.

My girls are back at work today, so I came home last night.

I slept like a log in my own bed after two nights sleeping on a sofa.  Not that the sofa is uncomfortable it's just that what with all the people and animals roaming around Sarah's house there isn't a lot of hours the whole house is actually quiet.

I've had a lovely two days with them all though.

I'm slowly getting organised today as there is no hurry to do anything.   I'm sitting here now just waiting for my hair to dry and watching the odd Youtube video fed to my tele.

Louie needs a decent walk today as he has only had the garden for the last two days.  As it's actually a lovely day out there he should be keen to get out for a bit.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and are now ready to start a brand new year.

Not a bad day out today , we did not get a white Christmas here, but further north a bit there was some of that white stuff I read  , rain is forecast for this evening ....

Glad to see you back Sandy, your own bed always feels so good after you have been away .
Bet Louie enjoys his walk today !!!   .  I served ham , asparagus spears and mashed potatoes  , a change from the traditional turkey , and mincemeat pie for dessert . Might get some turkey for new years , I will see .

Hope everyone has a happy New Year .

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas. Mine was OK but I was glad to get home. My sister and niece brought the new pups over yesterday afternoon and stayed for a few hours. Watching them was much more fun for me than all the Christmas stuff. They were hilarious.

Off to do some basic grocery shopping soon and then looking forward to a couple of quiet days just catching up on shows I've missed this week and generally doing very little.

Yeah, Christmas just isn't the same as it used to be.  I suppose that comes with age and depends on whether one still has little ones around.

I had a quiet day yesterday, mostly watching some films.  No housework to do because I did it all before leaving for Sarah's.

I was going to physically go to get some food shopping today from the local co-op but decided I probably needed too much to carry so ordered it on line just now instead.  I managed to get a delivery slot for tomorrow evening.

Today I'm not feeling too good.  I was awake all night with a bout of labyrinthitis.  It's not too bad at the moment, but I can't take any more pills until midday.  I'm thinking of going back to bed to tell the truth until then.  Hopefully I will doze off and catch up on the missed sleep, and then after the midday pills I might start feeling better.

Santa brought me a humidifier and and and air cleaning filter, just what I always wanted .lol

Wendy:  glad you enjoyed watching the puppies , they can be so much fun when they are so small. Enjoy your time watching the missed shows .

Sandy:what is babyrinthitis ?   Never heard of it before .  Hope you feel better soon , take care , sleep lots if you can .

Morning Smile I've had a quiet xmas as I stayed home and rested more.

Sandy hope you feel better today and the ears have sorted themselves again.

I'm feeling heaps better and just do what I feel like now and make sure I rest a lot in between doing things.

Nothing planned for new years eve as I don't like to be on the road then.

As Martha mentions Geru, it's a middle ear disease.  One constantly has it in the system but has flair ups of it.  It's hereditary.  Both Sarah and Aimee get it too.

It's not too bad at the moment.  I am still upright and have it sort of under control at the moment.

Good to hear you are feeling a lot better Martha.

Obviously I haven't done anything today.  Just rested.

Glad to hear you're both getting some rest and you're feeling a lot better Martha. I hope your problem subsides soon Sandy. I have a problem with one ear. Nothing like as bad as yours but I have to be very careful when it's windy or I get really bad earache and vertigo. Not fun so I can imagine how bad yours gets.

I've just spent ages wrestling with a new Calor gas cylinder that didn't want to attach to an extra heater I have. All done now but those bottles weigh a ton and my arms are killing me. My daughter would have done it the other day but the new bottle they bought for me needed a different regulator which she posted to me. It arrived this morning but proved to be a bit of a pain. Usually they're very simple but trust me to get a stubborn one. lol

I'm going to relax now and catch up on some more shows.

Wow, what a nasty day outside ,  9c, but dark  and low hanging sky and raining , yuk , Well, got to look at it this way , better then snow and ice  , like some parts of BC got the last couple of days .
. Nobody feels like getting out in to this kind of the day much

Martha, keep on doing what you feel like doing , and soon I hope you will be your old self again .

Sandy :  You too,, hope that nasty ear will straighten it self out , ear aches hurt , and vertigo is nasty , take good care . there is also a virus that goes round in winter month some years,  only it can get pretty nasty  with the room spinning etc etc .

Wendy: have a good rest now after all that trouble and keep warm .

The weather is similar to yours Geru. Not cold at 10C but miserable and wet and not at all tempting to go out in. I don't actually need the added heat right now but it's nice to know it's set up and working fine for when a cold snap hits.

I'm doing very little today. Can't seem to work up much enthusiasm for anything. I'm having Alfie for a few hours this evening so that will be fun although I don't think my cat agrees.

Pleased you got your heater sorted Wendy.  I used calor gas for heating for many years. They are a very handy form of heating.

We've had some dry but cold days down here.  Every day though I expect rain.  This is England after all.

I'm actually a little busy bee today.  It's been one of those days whereby I get up quickly to do one job and that lead on to another and another and so on.  Just stopping now for a sandwich and cuppa.

Enjoy your time with the dog Wendy.

The pup was an absolute monster last night. lol He seemed to have forgotten he was supposed to go outside to the toilet. He's been very good before now. He also decided the cat's litter tray was there for him to keep emptying all over the floor. He chewed everything in sight except his toys, pulled all the towels off the rail and dragged one into the water bowl and chased the cat every time she appeared. Just to mention a few things. lol He finally fell asleep about 10.30 half an hour before he was being picked up.

Today Spencer is coming to visit. From the little I've seen of him so far he's much quieter but he is a week younger so that may change quickly. Tomorrow my granddaughter and her partner are visiting so by the time they've gone I'll be exhausted no doubt.

Oh how lovely.  He was excited to be with you.   They do need constant attention, lol.  Hopefully you will get a calmer day today with Spencer.  How about a photo or two of them.

As I said I got a lot done yesterday and want to get more done today.  I'm in the process of changing my main colour in my flat from a deep mauve to red.  I haven't bothered much doing this over the last year or so and so my colours are looking a bit scatty.

Yesterday I sorted out the bathroom, and have asked Sarah to swap some towels with me.  When I went from red to mauve just before I became ill 3 years ago I bought new mauve towels and gave Sarah my red ones just as spares for them.  There are so many living in that house that they can't have enough towels.  So yesterday I text her to ask her to give me back the red ones and she now have my mauve ones.  She will drop those off between her working hours some time.

I also want to get a small red linoleum rug for in there.  It has to be linoleum because very occasionally Louie's pee leaks off the side of his pee mat, so it can't be a normal rug.  But I do want a spot of colour on the floor.

I also got under my bed and dragged out a box of picture frames out I have stored under there, as I want to print off a picture with some red in it to put in a frame and put on the wall.  I spent some time looking for a suitable picture yesterday but up to now I can't find one, so will look again later today.

It's such a tiny bathroom so there isn't a lot I can do in there, but brightening it up with some red bits and a couple of ornements should go a long way to making it look like I do care about how it looks in there.

I also want to make a start on practicing making a skirt in layers.  Thereby making a long skirt look a bit more modern than the ones I have been making so far.

I'm going to use a yucky cerise coloured old 2nd hand double duvet cover for practice.  If it works out then it will actually make a fairly decent petticoat rather than a skirt as it's not a colour one would wear as a skirt, (Yuck).

Yesterday my mac packed up on me again.  It's getting so old now.  So I set it back to factory settings again to see if that will give it a bit longer to live.  It took 5 hours to reset but during that time I watched some videos piped to my tele via my iPad.  So had a good rest late yesterday afternoon and early evening.  So far the mac is working again.  No idea how long that will last though.

I seem to have been busy today but not actually got a lot done.  But have still very much enjoyed the day.

I've been playing on the board and had a little change around including creating two new forums and removing one that wasn't being used.  Which of course also meant moving a few posts around.

I've also been playing with my penny whistle, which I am absolutely crap at.  I thought I'd stick to one tune until I can master it.  Thereby getting my fingers to spread themselves as they are meant to.  So far my ring finger on my right hand wants to land exactly where it wants to and not where I need it to be.

I suspect it's good for stretching the fingers even if they're not exactly in the right place. Fingers crossed your mac lasts for quite a while longer.

I had a nice catch up with my granddaughter yesterday. They're getting quite excited about their house which should be ready early next month if all goes to plan. So far the build is on schedule so they're hopeful. They're flying off to Florida for a few days in about 3 hours time.

It's frosty here this morning. Makes a change from the endless rain we've had. I hope we get to see some sunshine too. Just starting to come light and looks pretty cloudy at the moment but I live in hope.

Yeah, my fingers ached afterward for a short while.

Fingers crossed that the house is ready at the expected time.

I started out on my scooter for a short ride to a local field with Louie, but the wind was biting and he wasn't happy so we turned around and came back home in the warm.

Today I have been moving furniture around to pin a telephone extension wire to the skirting board.  I have moved the phone into my bedroom area onto my desk.  So much more convenient.  Only problem was it's a long way from the telephone point coming into the flat into my bedroom.  Not only does it have to go around the skirting but also around the kitchen doorway.

Tomorrow I want to put some picture up.

I lost all my images when this mac died so didn't have an avatar to replace that one with the mop cap on my head, so excuse the crappy one I have now as it's just a quick snap while on the comp just now.

Wendy those puppies are a lot of work! The good thing is that you can hand them back again lol.

Sandy you busy woman. Smile Back to red hey. I always liked your red layout when you had it before.

Geru I too am always glad when the festive busy days are over and done with. Not just because of the days itself but also because of all the traffic and shops being too busy etc.

I've had a quiet time and slept more even hahahaha. My body must be needing it so I just go with the flow.

My youngest brother was taken to hospital on new years eve with blood clots in his lungs! What a scare and so far so good ... he's been very lucky as he waited 3 days before seeing a doctor. (men; what can I say)

Natasja & boyfriend have left Perth and are driving across to Canberra on the east coast to spend a year or so over there. They felt like a challenge and change and I wish them good luck. I have no doubt they will do ok as both are head strong and driven in their pursuits.
