I'm going to make this as I think it looks fun, and easy of course.  Although I don't think I will do the waist band as wide as she has.

You  know I think I still have an apron here somewhere but seeing as I never wear one I haven't bothered looking for it.

I love aprons but you never see them in the shops now anymore. If one wants a half pinny now one has to make it themselves. Although I'm sure we can still buy them on line somewhere.

British woman stopped wearing aprons, I would say, early 60s. I know by the time I was married in '67, I only saw from then on aprons on my Mother's generation still and rarely on someone of my young age at the time. My Sister Barbara, who is 13 years older than me aways wore one while she was a stay at home Mum until her kids were old enough for her to go out to work. Although I also owned a couple of half pinnys too in my early married life.

Thinking about it. It's was probably the going from being stay at home Mums to being working Mums that completely did away with aprons here in Britain. I personally don't know anyone that wears one now, except me of course.

I find it terrific for keeping my skirt clean from hairs with the dog laying all over me and great for wiping my damp hands down. If I'm wearing one with pockets then I also keep my mobile in it along with other bits and pieces I might want to keep handy. It comes in handy as padding on my lap for a hot plate if I happen to eat off my lap. I wear one all the time I am indoors now.

I threw a couple away when I had a clear out last october because they were full green striped working ones that I used to wear when running the cafe in Hastings. I only have three now two of which are full ones. One comes from a National Trust shop and the other is a rather posh one that one of my girls bought me from a fancy shop. The third is the half red one I made a short while ago and did a post about.

I'm looking forward to making more when I can find some decent second hand material of nice patterns and colours.

The difference with the threads here is the width of the white part for the posting , the blue part of the left is narrower , so when the graphic window pops up it has more room .
