Facts

Shakespeare made up the name “Jessica” for his play Merchant of Venice.
Shakespeare probably based it on the biblical name ISCAH, which would have been spelled Jescha in his time.

Good morning from Victoria,  no snow here so far ,but you never know , this winter is crazy .  Grass is green , streets are damp , but it's mild.

Noting much on my agenda today, except  getting some paperwork done .

I am a "Suverner".....but in America....Florida Panhandle....Our winter has been very very mild....March even came in like a lamb in our area...it rained, but didn't roar....so I imagine it will go out like a Lion....before April....Love April and May in this region....but by July and August it is so boiling hot here that I stay inside a lot in the A/C...guess I need to be a "snowbird" and buy some land in the Smokies or out in the Rockies....and just come down here in their hard winters...and go up there in our scalding summers.

Hi again.
Just got in the door from seeing The Great Wall. The filming and CGI were very good. The acting was nothing to speak of. All in all I'd say the story was epic and I'm glad I saw it on the big screen & am very glad that the theatre was practically empty  :D
I'll be hittin' the hay soon, already in my PJs
zzZZzzzz good night!♥

Glad it was worth going at least Elaine.

Nowt right wi' being a southerner either Sandy. lol We used to get snow most years here but recently we've had little more than a few flurries or a light dusting most of the time. One or two falls of a couple of inches but that's about it. We seem to have endless rain and gales in recent years. In summer as well as winter. Gone are the hot summers we used to look forward to.

Good morning peeps,
Thank you Zandranna for turning on the "Friend" feature and I love your affiliate banner as well.

It snowed here yesterday but, nowhere as much as it did in Vancouver. lol
I got another snow warning message in my gmail this morning from the The Weather Network, so funny. Probably get just a dusting, it'll be Vancouver that'll get a beating of snow again.

Omgosh even ToeTapping is here, so exciting. :D

You're welcome Marie.  I just didn't switch it on originally because I thought no one would bother with it.  So I"m pleased it might be used.

Because I"m still learning the coding on this system, it was a bugger trying to figure where it goes.

Creating the box was no problem, but figuring out where in the settings to put the thing was another story.

The html on this board is all done in separate sections and the base code is all written into them, so you not only have to find the right html block to edit but then have to slot it into place where you think it will show.

Now I just need to get some more board owners sharing their links.

Sandy Our Autumn has just started and winter doesn't start to June and I dread it.  Our summer is certainly lingering on.

Linette you did it right, we are friends now and hopefully I did it right too.

I have the laundry and would like to get out in the garden for some fresh air as just so sick of the AC.

Sandy and everyone enjoy your day.

Good morning all Smile the sun is rising and so am I lol ... kind of as I sip my first coffee of the day.

We had a public holiday here yesterday (Labour Day) so today is my busy, running around day.

Still very hot weather here and it looks like it will continue for another week. I'm loving it!

Wet from overnight rain but supposed to be a fair amount of sunshine again today. Yesterday turned out very springlike. Two days would really be spoiling us. It was actually light by 6.30 this morning so the days are definitely getting longer.

Nothing exciting happening. More housework and then wheelchair hunting with my brother later.

Overcast morning here in nw Florida.......looks like an inside day today.....cannot go outside or near the windows when we get a thunderstorm......I've been struck by lightening twice already.  The first time I was using a fly swatter on my back porch of the old house......and lightening just came out of nowhere and threw me back thru the screen door.....Thankfully, it just numbed my right arm for a while as I was wearing thick soled rubber shoes......but the good thing about it was it cured the arthritis pain I had in my right shoulder that kept getting worse......have not had it since over 15 years......of course, I don't recommend that cure for arthritis though!

My Mother got struck by lightening once.  I was with her at the time.  She got thrown many feet back.  Thank goodness she had rubber wellingtons on at the time.

It is getting light so much earlier now Wendy.  Spring is on the way matie.

Woo Hoo!  I see T.T. has added her real name.  Hiya Joy.

I'm playing on my test site trying to learn all the different coding on here.  So different from Yuku.  I'm so enjoying playing.

Sandy yes I thought I would put my real name as this forum is very friendly.   I am picking up my new glasses today and off to the hairdressers. The one thing spoiling the day is the grocery shopping.

Sandy and every one enjoy your day.

Happy Tuesday everyone!
We're having some weather today. Quite a bit of snow and wind. We'll probably lose power if this keeps up. I'm blasting the furnace to make sure it stays warm in here just in case.
I should not have eaten nacho chips with 'cheese' at the theatre! I've had migraine headache, stomach pains and hives from that oh so wise decision.
Yaknelle, that is amazing! i can't even imagine what that must be like to be hit by lightning, unless it's like touching an electric fence. I've done that on dare, lol (I was 12 years old Rolling Eyes )
Martha, I'm happy for you that you like the hot weather!
Linette your photo certainly is a prize winner♥
Enjoy what's left of your Tuesday everyone Smile

Thank you for that Marie.  I appreciate it.  Lovely photo.

I couldn't stand the heat over in Australia either, but I suppose one would get used to it after a while.

I desperately need new glasses too Joy.  I'm almost blind with them and definitely blind without them.

Oh my Elaine, how can you eat something you know is going to make you feel so bad?   I really feel for you having snow still at this time of year.  Although I have known it twice in my life time to snow in April when I lived just outside London.  I remember when I was 18.  One day in the April I was sun bathing in the garden in my swim suit and the next we had thick snow.

I have had the most amazingly lazy day.  I have now been on this computer for 12 solid hours.  But when I am playing with coding I can sometimes even forget to go to bed.

Sandy, there I was faced with the smells and excitement and sights & I just fell for the idea that maybe I'd be ok if I indulged just this once. Silly for sure. I get varying degrees of reactions to foods that are made for the masses & have additives and other chemicals. I thought cheese and corn chips were probably not a horrible choice. Wrong.

i used to like to learn coding but then there things I couldn't figure out for the life of me and so just gave up. I think you are probably more intelligent and patient than I. Wow. 12 hours!

I do understand Elaine.  There are foods I'm not allowed to eat now but I still do even though I know I am going to ill the next day.

I'm not supposed to eat any form of brown bread, but I hate white bread.  I'm not meant to eat the skin of any fruit or veg, not allowed any fruit that contains pips like grapes and such.  Not supposed to eat much much dairy.  But I do.  Although I'm pretty good on not eating skin of fruit and if I toast bread I will have white.  It's a right pig.

I don't think it's got to do with intelligence so much as how different people's brains work.  When teaching someone anything you have to figure out how their brains work and then explain things differently.  I like to be taught something as if I am an idiot.  I like things explained very simply.   I do think I have a lot of patience though.  But I also have tenacity.  I wont let anything beat me.

Btw Elaine you have reached your 10 posts and as there are equal amount of people in each group, you can choose the group you would like to be in.

Sandy you are right it depends what weather conditions you are used too. Living in the semi tropics the humidity even gets me down sometimes. I used to live in South Australia they have very cold winters and due to health reasons shifted north.  Happy with the glasses, a couple of glitches but hoping they will iron themselves out other wise go back next week.

Elaine I am like you. Took a course on coding but it got a bit much for me. Know enough to get by and that is not much.

Like you Martha a lazy day except for a tree I have in our small yard which has got out of hand so will do some pruning in the morning when it is in the shade.

Everyone have a lovely day.
