Facts

Shakespeare made up the name “Jessica” for his play Merchant of Venice.
Shakespeare probably based it on the biblical name ISCAH, which would have been spelled Jescha in his time.

Thank you so much, Sandy.

I've been making more soups without meat lately
anyway.
I've never been a big meat eater
and have gone more for salads, veggies,
fruits, and cheese.
And sometimes, my weakness, potatoes.
I never met a potato that didn't love me.  Smile

Every now and then a small piece of
juicy steak does hit the spot.

Dull and drizzly here with a chilly breeze. I'll happily eat bolognese every day if someone else is doing the cooking. Lasagne too. Yum!

Not much time to play today. My granddaughter is visiting and staying the night so I need to get a few chores done before she arrives and takes over the place.

Nice to meet you Nat.

I'm not a great meat eater either Kerri. When I cook for myself it's mostly vegetarian. But I do eat meat if I'm eating someone else's cooking. But only a small amount so as not to appear rude.

I do love my roast potatoes and chips though. I also very much enjoy a bolognese but usually only if I cook it, lol.

I do pity you poor souls that still have snow Natalie and Sally. I hope it doesn't snow for you Natalie.

Have fun with the Granddaughter Wendy. I love it when I have a one on one with mine.

Dougie, that's how I have always added images to posts. I could never get on with the way Yuku's wysiwyg editor worked for those. I would have to scroll through loads of folders, then scroll through all the images. It just wasn't worth it. It took far too long. I never played with the PB button though as I hate PB for hosting.

I'm still waiting for Jess to move her junk out of my room and then I want to hoover. She has already been an hour in the bath, which means she is probably going out, so I bet the junk doesn't get moved until tonight. Bloody kids. What are we meant to do with them?

I never used the PB button in the editor either Sandy and have found to way easier to just have another tab open with whatever image storage sites I wanted to use.

Morning everyone; had my early morning walk and now uploading my meditation music to my computer so that I can transfer it to my iPod Nano. We're on thunderstorm watch here so I will need my headphones and music to stop me from panicking lol.

Kindle is charging and my extra USB charger is charged.

Good morning all.  I thought I'd better post early as I am trying to figure out some coding, and once I get involved in that I'm bound to forget I haven't made a post today.

Rarely do I come across a bit of code that I can't twist and turn to how I want it, but there is something on the Visitor Messages that I am trying to figure out and it's got me totally stumped.  I wont let it beat me though.

Good Morning!
I'll be busy shopping today. Have veggies to buy and need to find healthy a wet cat food for cat T'ai. She's only had dry food up until now but yesterday we had a scare and it's time to make sure she is getting enough moisture in her diet.
Have a lovely day everyone! sunny

Good morning everyone. Just come back from exercises and it was a good class today. Came home in the rain but it was worth getting wet as it has been a long time since it has rained here.  Hubby cooking dinner making pasta, he has made the sauce so an easy day ahead.

Everyone enjoy your day

Morning all. Granddaughter has returned home. We had fun but a bit too much wine. Back to boring housework this morning without much enthusiasm I might add. Lunch with the usual suspects later. Amazingly the sun is shining.

If we said that Dougie you'd be whinging. lol

Good morning all.

@Elaine One does have to be careful with cats eating dried food, as if they don't drink enough water it can really damage them.  Dogs don't seem to have the same problem.  Although with them you have to check the dried food doesn't contain too much wheat.  Wheat is so bad for dogs.

Hoovering my room today is on the agenda.  Lovely sunny day so a nice walk is also planned.

I am now at the point when I really am looking forward to moving back to a little flat.  This place now is getting so very busy at times.  They all three now have steady fellas that stay over, and whilst I like all the chaps it's getting a bit much for me now.

Morning all.

I said it before you Wendy. Wink But in all seriousness I will try it when I have more time. The next two days for me are going to be busy with the daughter and wife having appointments and a snow storm on it`s way. Have I mentioned how much I hate snow?

We had 3 inches of snow overnight.
No fun driving in that this morning at 5 AM.
The plows were not done plowing the side streets yet.

I got spoiled with no snow for a while.

Supposed to be around 49F on the weekend
so hopefully this will be gone.

Glad you had a good time with
your granddaughter, Wendy!
A little too much wine
is fun once in a while.

Nice when someone else makes
the dinner, Joy. Smile

You are a good Dad, Dougie.
The snow cannot last forever though it feels
like it sometimes.

Sandy,
Sounds like you are ready for
a little private space
and some quiet.
I spend a lot of time with others
but I need some quiet and time to myself.

Enjoy your day, Everyone!

Good morning everyone. Another cloudy,  drizzly start to the day here.

Sandy I'd be a basket case by now living with so many people. Shut up Dougie before you say it. Is your old flat available Sandy or will you have to move somewhere else?

My cat has several meals a day and they're a mix of wet and dry. I tend to alternate. Cats will usually drink water if they need to but they don't drink anything like as much as dogs. I like to include dry food because it's better for their teeth. Unless you intend cleaning them which I wouldn't have dared attempt with my old cat. This one might tolerate it without biting or clawing but I doubt she'd like it much.

PostSubject: Re: March Chatter   14/03/17, 09:07 am

Morning all.

I give Louie a dentastix every day to clean his teeth.  When he was little I tried to train him to have his teeth cleaned, but he wasn't having any of it, but I think the dentasitix are just as good.  I certainly wouldn't fancy trying to clean a cat's teeth.

No, my old flat by now would have been striped down and renovated, and someone else been allocated it.

For a couple of years before I moved out, as residents moved out they started to rip out all the bathrooms and kitchens, take all the old plaster off the walls and ceilings, and completely renovated each one before letting it out again.  They were built in the 60s and in dire need of an update.

Not that they were in bad condition, it was just that the bathrooms had 3/4 baths in and now they are putting in full showers the length of what the baths were and some of the kichens were badly designed.  My kitchen was great because I treated my Nephew to do mine up before I moved in.  But of course that would now have been ripped out and redesigned.

I was a bit cheesed off anyway with having my old flat looking out over the woods, although I could also see the sea if my chair was close to the window and I looked to the right.  So when I go back, I will definitely be going back to a renovated flat, but I don't know which point of the compass I will be facing.  I was facing south/east but more east than south.

I would dearly love to get one on the front completely facing the sea and the hills.  But that's not my luck.  Everyone wants one of those.

There are also two types of flats there.  One has it (let's call it flat A) where you have to go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom as mine was, and the other (flat B) has the bathroom and kitchen separate .  Flat (B) has a larger sitting room but the extra door needed for a separate bathroom and kitchen take up more wall space.  Also the kichen is a small square one.  Whereas (A )had a galley type kichen.  Both have their pros and cons.

But honestly, it is such an amazing place to live that I don't care which one it turns out to be.  The only thing is, that I will turn down one that faces north.  Not because it's facing north but because those look out over the back side of the complex and onto the dining hall and some sheds.  That would be very depressing.  So I would wait for another one if they offered me one of those.

I am going to ring them up today and see what the waiting time is (roughly) as it can vary.  It's usually about 3 months though.  So I will apply about June, if we haven't changed our September time frame for going our separate ways before then.  I personally think it will be earlier because Aimee wants to move to Ireland as soon as she can and Sarah and Martyn really look like they are going to be a permanent item.  If so, then they will be making plans for him to move in here I expect and take my place.

I can't wait, lol.

Wow lots of changes again for you then Sandy. As in redecorating and of course moving and then trying to find the space for everything etc.

Good luck with the wife and daughter Dougie. And fingers crossed it's not too bad with the snowstorm!

Kerri you too, good luck with the snow and be safe on the roads. I sure don't miss the snow lol.

Wend is vacuuming and Sandy is hoovering so I am going to give it a miss LOL.
Gheez Wendy not more costs for you!! It just never seems to end for you lately.

My old car is in need of some more work too but I'm holding of as long as I can in the hope of being able to get another 2nd hand one. Ones you start with continuous repairs it's a downhill battle really.
Hopefully my car will last me till the end of the year ... or I win the lotto hahaha.
